NTSC XBOX 360 disc on xbox 1

So, I was rummaging through my basement, when i found a disc (halo: reach) of my old Xbox 360 (NTSC) . My friend has an xbox one (bought in india, so it must be PAL if it is region locked), so i was wondering, if i used the disc i found with his xbox, what will happen?
Will it work, will it damage the xbox, or will it trigger a download like i have been told (but since region is different, i am not much sure)
