  1. NTFS formatted hard drive with usb 3.0 not working with Xbox One S for capturing gameplay

I got a Seagate 4TB Xbox hard drive, plugged it into my xbox, tried to set as capture location. Said I needed to format to NTFS. plugged hard drive into my PC (still running on an old version of Windows 10, idk if that makes a difference). Formatted hard drive to NTFS. Decided to use it as storage for some old vids on my pc to clear up space bc the xbox said it would still work as a capture location. Plugged back into xbox. Still said I needed to reformat hard drive to NTFS. Back to the PC. Check properties on the drive: it's formatted NTFS. Check for partitions if that's the issue. Only partition is the EFI System Partition which (as far as I know) needs to be there. Idk why it won't recognize that its ntfs formatted. any help appreciated

    :)

Trying to download PC game to external hard drive

The drive needs to be formatted with NTFS file system

But a question, how is the hard drive connected? USB 3.0 or USB-C?

USB 3 looks like normal usb and often has blue inside the connector. C is a small connector

If it is USB 3.0 it won’t work, the drive connection is too slow to play the game

To format the hard drive go to Disk management, right click on the drive, choose format, and then select ntfs from the drop-down and hit quick format.

Please be aware this will erase the existing contents of the drive

NTFS formatted hard drive with usb 3.0 not working with Xbox One S for capturing gameplay

so i just noticed when its plugged into the xbox, its name on the xbox is EFI. Which makes me think that the partion is an issue. However, since the partition is needed (also i don't have the option to delete it. "delete" is just greyed out), idk what to do. The efi partition small, and the xbox recognizes the ntfs formatted space of 3.6TB. the majority of the hard drive is ntfs, but i dont think i can make it all ntfs. Also, the xbox can read it just fine. so i downloaded media player on my xbox and i can watch everything just fine. I just can't add more videos for some reason.

    External hard drive

remember that your hard drive must be in NTF format (you can format it on a pc and put that format) is the only format compatible with xbox, just as it must be usb 3.0 have at least 250 gb

Xbox One S Record Gameplay Micro Sd Card

Hi Ameerh1! My name is Ricardo an independent advisor ready to help you with this situation!

The USB device needs to be a USB 3.0, NTFS-formatted to work for captures, i don't believe a MicroSd with a USB adapter can reach USB 3.0 speed

External Hard Drive not available as capture location?

Same problem I cant set up a Capture with an external hard drive Xbox X

I have done these steps with both a seagate 2tb and Western digital 2tb ( i have a 4tb external for games already)

I have formatted on Windows and Mac

    No difference

It always comes up EFI and says format to NTFS even though both the PC and Mac recognize it as 3.0 NTFS each time

Ive switched all usb hubs several times

Im giving up seems its the system and i cant do it

    Ive tried for 3 days
I'm having the exact same issues with my 4 TB Seagate it's a 3.0 and my PC is formatting it perfectly to NTFS but whenever I attempt to use any of the 3 available Xbox One S USB hubs the system registers my hdd as ETI and tells me to reformat to NTFS.
