I haven't really heard anything about this game, but I might check it out. What type of game is it?

 

Wow that's a pretty tuff number.

 

"Dynasty Warriors" are tactical action games based on the stories surrounding the "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" which is a bit like China's version of "The Iliad" and "Odyssey".

You play as the main figures who featured in these historical battles. The source material itself is acknowledged as being a mishmash of history, legend and myth.

"Warriors Orochi" is a collection of heroes from the "Dynasty Warriors" games and throws in the heroes from the "Samurai Warriors" series.

In a nutshell you take your character and go beat the crap out of thousands and thousands of enemies.

Early in their lifespan they were fun but repetative Hack n Slash titles where you beat up hundreds of enemies that all looked the same.

There's quite an extensive cast of characters but only a handful would actually be fun to use for an extended period.

The latest versions of the "Dynasty Warriors" series have seen big improvements on the movesets for characters with most players offering very satisfying and varied combos and attacks.

Also there are named enemy generals who won't go down as easy as the rank and file soldiers that you'll have to dispatch.

"Warriors Orochi 3: Ultimate" features tons of characters and guest appearances by characters from "Ninja Gaiden" and "Soul Calibur".

Kasumi, Momiji and Rachel are on the box art. Hayabusa and Ayane were in the original "Warroris Orochi 3" so it should be fair to expect them there too. Sophitia is there from "Soul Calibur" and there are some other guests from games I don't recognise.

Personally I've always found battering thousands of enemies on screen to be very theraputic.

 

I've never liked these games, at least not for more than 5 minutes...

 

Phew, sounds like the Rift achievement in Diablo 3 UEE for killing 5,000,000 demons. Is that comparable?

Yeah, that's a challenge not an achievement.

 

That should not be a challenge. And I no longer see it on my Xbox One or Smartglass.

 

I've never liked those kinds of achievements - you'd have to be crazy to go after them...

 

I apparently mistaken it for an achievement. @ GG I hear hear ya. Challenge? No. But an Achievement...that is not hard seeing has you kill about 1000 demons per rift run through. And Diablo 3 is pretty awesome. Lifetime, that is understandable. But
a timed challenge? No, there is not enough time.

 

It's not one of those challenges that appear with the achievements.

"Diablo III: UEE" has an extensive list of challenges for you to complete.

Doing so will unlock rewards such as certain banner shapes or images etc...

You can find a complete list of them if you check out "MORE" on the main menu.

I love achievements where you've actually achieved something. This "Warriors Orochi" achievement is certainly one of those.

Well I'm only 997 999 kills to go.

 

I don't know if this is worse than Dynasty Warriors 6 I think it is, get every character to level 50, the last achievement I need and only have about half of the character to 50! Haha, I'll get it one day.
