Nothing Working on the Xbox One

Whenever I turn on my Xbox One, the screen stays black and there is no sound. In order to get any picture or sound, I have to cycle through all of my television's inputs until I get back to HDMI 3, which is the input that the Xbox One is plughed into (I
use the television remote, not the Xbox One). Also, the console will freeze every time when I attempt to open any app (none of them will work). My games will only load after resetting the console by holding the power button or switching from "instant on" to
"power save" mode. However, if I press start at the main menu of any of the games (for example, Disney Infinity 3.0 or Star Wars Battlefront), the game freezes. I can still return to the dashboard and close the game, but it happens every time. The console
will not play DVD's or Blu-Ray's either. It freezes every time and I can only return to the dashboard. This happens every time while the console is offline and online. I bought the console new from a local GameStop in July, 2015, and it's already broken. I'm
so close to just buying a Playstation. I've had so many problems with my Xbox One. I originally bought one when they first came out, but I sold it due to the bugs the console suffered. Maybe I was fooling to buy another one.

Dead Rising 3 has a 13gb update before it installs the game onto the hard drive. That could explain why it took so long to install DR3...

Same with me except I can't play titanfall or nba2k. I stupidly tried to update my 2k and it was going good but suddenly it stopped at 45%. I've factory reset my xbox and I'd rather not delete everything again. Any feedback would be great. I just got my
xbox and I'm starting to regret it.

 

But of anyone knows of a way to fix this problem, let me know. I don't want to buy another console because most of my friends and family play on the Xbox One.

 

Yeah, been having similar troubles myself. The only advice I have seen is hard reset, install offline tool, remove profile, or factory reset. I have tried everything possible numerous times besides factory reset. This just started happening to my console
little over a week ago. I am so *** that I haven't found a solution. Spent about 5 hours tonight trying to play games, spent about 1 hour actually playing. Seems like it could possibly have to do with latest software update, idk. About ready to make change
to PS4 myself if this keeps up. Hopefully there will be a solution posted soon.

 

You could try the solution above or contact Xbox support they may be able to determine if your console is faulty if that's the case hope that your warranty is in date they will offer you a replacement if you have a sticker machine or a printer you can use
the pre paid sticker that they will give you alternatively you could contact where you bought the Xbox one from explain to them your console is faulty and you need a replacement again make sure your warranty is in date. Hope this helps

 

At this point a factory reset is probably the best suggestion.

If you are ready to reset your console to the factory default settings, follow these steps:

Scroll left on the Home screen to open the guide.

Select Settings.

Select All Settings.

Select System.

Select Console info & updates.

Select Restore factory defaults.

Read the warning message, and then select Yes.
