Nothing Will Launch!

very recently my xb1 has been acting up,. after I'm done playing and console off... ill come back later to play, turn it on and no apps or games will launch. it just sits there stuck. the only way I recover is to completely pull its power, wait a few
and plug back in and turn on. this is getting annoying. seems to happen every time after I turn on from its sleep.

No apps, games, settings, anything will open!

Launch day is 11-22, that is when you should expect it. Nothing earlier, nothing later.

 

You're using Instant On mode, right?

You're not alone, there are several threads with variations of the same problem, all of which are being completely ignored by MS.

Mine varies between a big spinning circle, not signing in with Kinect or the controller, or games/apps just not loading. Happens probably 8 times out of 10 when I switch back on.

Only answer is to switch to Energy Saving mode, or do a hard reset, hold the power button for 5 seconds until it switches off and restart. Which kind of defeats the whole object of Instant On mode.

It was working fine right up until the last update. Hopefully it's something that will be fixed in a future update, but as MS don't seem to acknowledge the problem, who knows?

All we can do is keep on about it and hope somebody official eventually takes notice.

 

Snap, nothing works, the system is shocking right now. Prior to xmas was fine, since xmas day been awful. Christmas day was so awful as kids got disney infinity and basically couldn't play it..

 

MS do acknowledge the issues, but not in the main forum sections as they're user support forums for the most part (as in, other users are the ones replying). In the preview program section of the forums, MS staff and developers reply to threads. I've reported
this exact issue more than once (for different dashboard builds) and as I'm in the preview program, I've also used the reporting tool built into the console which sends error logs to the developers.

I agree that it's been an issue for too long though.

 

Might it not be an idea that someone from MS does actually acknowledge the issue here then?

This is probably one of the first ports of call for any Xbox issues, you're directed here from xbox.com, one would assume there would be some sort of official help available here from MS themselves, not just other users.

There's nothing more frustrating than having a problem, that a lot of other people also experience and to be completely ignores when asking for a solution. It just looks like MS don't actually care. Even from a PR point of view, someone just popping in saying
something along the lines of "yes, we're aware of the issue, we're working on a solution"

Right now, apart from what you've said, we have no idea if this is a hardware or software issue or if MS know about and are a) trying to fix it, or b) couldn't care less and are completely ignoring it.

 

I agree. They could do with more support staff manning this forum, because sometimes there are issues that need passing on to members of the dev team and sometimes we don't know if that's actually happened due to the lack of replies.

As for this issue, it has to be a software issue as doing a full reboot of the console always fixes things temporarily. I expect quirks with a new product, but the Xbox One has been out for 15 months now and this particular bug has been present since launch
- admittedly, the situation has improved since launch (for me at least), but whatever bug is causing this ought to have been squashed by now.

 

I'm having this same issue and it started last night for me when live went down

 

I just like to say that the cookie cutter reply of holding down the button for a hard reset only marginally works. It works for some but I am seeing a lot that says it doesn't. My xbox basically became an expensive streaming device that doesn't stream netflix.

 

Hard reset works, but more often than not, only until you switch off and back on again, then it's back to not loading the dash or games/apps not starting.

 

Still nothing works, every game either digital or disk "is taking to long to load" been like this for weeks now. Sometimes the reset works, but why should I need to do that about 10 times to play a game...

 

You shouldn't.

Only other option is to put it in Energy Saving mode and hope that one day MS might admit they broke something in the last update and fix it. But them you lose all the benefits of Instant On.

 

I have the same problem. Sometimes, if I return to dashboard, I can not start anything with the controller. But I can use Kinect Voice to launch something. Then, I can use the controller again to select something on screen.

 

If anyone here is getting the error code 0x8027025a (game took too long to load) I had to request an advanced replacement to fix my issue. In my case I had faulty RAM and hard resets were only temporary fixes.

Started an online chat and reached solution that way. Whole process went relatively smoothly too.
