Nothing loading! Dashboard is unbearably slow.

I bought a brand new Xbox One. Straight out of the box, I hooked it up, started initial set up, and updated it. First of all, it kept giving me connection issues or error codes when I tried to link my Xbox profile to it. Or it wouldn't even pick up my wireless
connection. I reset my modem and reset the wireless on the Xbox One. That finally fixed that issue and I got my Xbox Live profile going,

But now, the dashboard is unbearably slow. Just going into the settings or selecting a dashboard color takes a long time to load and process. Now that I am trying to download the Halo MCC game that came with my console, it's frustrating. When I click on
"redeem code"' it loads indefinitely. Keep loading and loading until it decided to tell me that I have a connection problem.

Problem loading games

Everything for me is unbearably slow. Even when I try to run downloaded games, they wont even work

 

SLOW LOADING DASHBOARD

Hi. My box (360 s)has recently started to take about five minutes to load up the dashboard. It hardly ever connects first thing anymore and I cant play online. It then takes another five or ten minutes to load a game. I have tried so many suggestions but
I am getting nowhere fast. Any ideas?

Could you try and perform a powercycle ? This usually fixes issues with the Xbox One as it's on Instant on by default

I attempted a power cycle twice.

I did try it again, though. And now I'm having the original problem again: my Xbox won't even pick up any wireless networks now.

 

Try going to your network settings and click alternate MAC address

 

It gives me the option to choose 'Clear' or 'Alternate MAC Address'. When I click alternate MAC address, it prompts me to enter one.

 

Please try the Clear option.

Also is it possible to try a wired connection at this time too? I've experienced similar issues once too and after connecting by wire... the wireless issue did solve itself the next day when I disconnected the wire and did setup wireless again.

 

I didn't do the MAC address clear, but I did directly connect to my modem and everything functions great now.

Which leads me to believe there is a problem with the Xbox One's wireless capabilities. Is this a known issue?

 

Hi, as far as I know it's not a known issue.

Do you use a seperate device for wireless or is it built in in the modem? If it's seperate is it possible to connect the console by wire to that seperate device too, to see if that makes a difference

You could try to see what happens if you set up wireless now after disconnecting the wire.

 

im using the wireless that's built into the modem. I'm not using a router.

I'll see what happens after I unplug the Ethernet and try wireless again.
