    Xbox One Kinect Not Working

    I contacted xbox support via phone and they said since I was a preview member, I needed to use the forum to resolve my issue. My issue is that since a couple updates ago, my kinect started powering on and off sporadically. I contacted support via phone and
    they said that it might have been because of an update and that I should wait for the next update because it would be an update to introduce the new OS and it might resolve the issue. They noted that if the update did not resolve the issue, I should contact
    support again. I received the new OS update and now my kinect does not power on at all. Can anyone provide insight as to what I can do to fix this?

    Hi Kyle82485 sorry to hear your having issues with your Kinect, as you are in the preview program please post in the forums below as you should be able to get more help there plus I think there are a couple of thread with similar sounding issues already

    Hello

    Could you try the following steps ?

    1. Power off the Xbox One console by pressing the Xbox button on the front of the console for 10 seconds, until it shuts down completely.
    2. Unplug the console’s power cable.
    3. Unplug the Kinect sensor from the console.
    4. Plug the console power cable back in.
    5. Press the Xbox button on your console to power up the Xbox One.
    6. Press the Menu button on your controller.
    7. Select Settings, and then select Kinect.
    8. Plug the Kinect sensor into the back of the console and wait 5 seconds for it to be recognized.

    The Kinects are different.

    Urgently await the backward compatibility of the Harry Potter game for kinect. We believe in the competence of this company, Microsoft. Antecipadente thank the understanding of all and wait a positive response.

    Sorry to say but no Xbox 360 Kinect games will be made backwards compatible as they will not work with the Xbox One Kinect.

    The 360 Kinect is different from the Xbox One Kinect.

    The Xbox One Kinect Sensor only works on the Xbox One (or the One S w/ the adapter). The Xbox 360 Kinect Sensor only works on Xbox 360.

    Kinect Support for XBox One X

    The Kinect will work on the Xbox One X. It just needs the adapter. Assuming it's the right adapter, then it should work fine with Kinect games and voice commands.

    The Kinect is definitely not built into the Xbox One S or X. That saleman was misinformed.
