Not sure if my xbox one is slowly dying on me.

( NOTE!!!!! the second paragraph gets straight to the point if you do not want to read all the non-sense in the first paragraph )

hi im having a hard time understanding whats truly happening with my xbox when it comes to game discs. it all started once i got battlefront. for a few months everything was fine. but then every once in awhile when i insert my disc it seems as if it
doesnt want to spin. i would always have to listen real close to hear if the disc was going to spin or not. once it spins it works perfectly fine. i didnt think much of it until now. once i saw that alice madness returns became back compatible i was stunned
because thats my girlfriends favorite game that she hasnt gotten to play in a long time. i insert the disc to install the game and of course it didnt spin. so i got down and had my ear real close to my xbox so i can listen for it to catch and start spinning/reading
the disc. after dozens of tries it still wont read. ive searched the web for any advice and i just keep reading how people are getting error codes and asking if you own the game. but nothing will pop up for me. no error code no game. just nothing as if i
never inserted a disc into the xbox. after getting impatient trying to get alice to work i decided to try a different disc that i knew would work. i instert the witcher 3 and it works perfectly fine. so i think to myself okay? lets try another game. i used
skate 3 because i was playing it not even 2 weeks ago and i knew it had the same problem as battlefront. sometimes it'd work other times it wouldnt. after a dozen times trying it didnt work. for the next 3 days i still cant get these games to work.

long story short some games wont spin/read. other games work first time inserted. and my disc are in good condition. i've asked my friends that own an xbox one if they are experiencing these problems and they all said no. im not getting any error
codes at all. nothing pops up because the disc doesnt want to catch/spin/read/scan or whatever you want to call it. only way i can put it into words is right as you insert a disc you can hear it start to spin. not even a second later it instantly stops the
spin cycle as if its refusing to read it. but yet this only happens to certain games of mine. other games work perfectly fine as if nothing was wrong with my console. i have yet to try using these disc on a different console. i will be doing this tomorrow
with a friends xbox to see if its my disc or not. i just wanted to go ahead and post this to see if i could possibly get answers to help me understand this issue im having.

Ah, I see. This started just today, I hope you know. I have been wanting to upgrade to the Xbox One S for a while now.

Hmm that doesn't sound too good. Generally, when your disc drive is refusing to read games, that's a good indication that your disc drive is failing. You can (and should!) try
troubleshooting your disc drive errors first. Follow all the steps provided there and hopefully one of them will work. If nothing there works, unfortunately your Xbox One console
may be in need of repairs. You can initiate that process via the
Online Service Center.
