Not sure if it’s my series x or Forza 5

My series x has been great, the games I own that are series x compatible look fantastic in full 4K. Had issues when Outriders launched, turned out it was the game itself back then.

Forza is very odd because it can completely crash my series x or just close out the game and return me to my dash.

I don’t know if the game is so demanding that my series x is somehow no capable of fully running it or the game itself is bad.

The randomness of the crashes makes me think my system is going since I can play for a few hours with nothing or just about 5 - 10 minutes before a crash.

Is there any way to test my system to see if it’s going bad??

All my other games run fine BUT they just might be less demanding than Forza.

Any advice would be great

Yes I have tried the “hard reset “ still crashes eventually with Forza, only Forza will crash my system.

Hi there Richard welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. Try the following to see if it helps with the crashing!

1. Turn off your Xbox using the power button on the console.

2. Once your Xbox has completely powered down, unplug the power cord from the back of the console. Don't simply unplug the cord from the wall's electrical socket — it must be disconnected from your Xbox.

3. Wait for 5 minutes, and then reconnect the power cord to both the Xbox console and the electrical socket.

4. Let another minute pass and turn it on afterwards.

Do you use an external HDD? I'm sure most do. I have a 4TB external as my main HDD with every Forza on it including 5. When you get Series X, it's as simple as unplugging the HDD and plugging it into the USB on the Series X. Done. All games will be playable
and benefit from some enhancements. (still need to see more info on this, exciting nonetheless)

Thanks! The weird thing is, this issue only happens with series x games. Forza horizon 4 looks perfect. It’s just the new multiplayer halo and Forza Horizon 5.

Thank you I guess I'll keep saving for a X BOX SERIES X forza 5 horizon premium edition.im disabled can't go outside much .so I really miss my Xbox.
