    Not restoring all progress after restoring drive


    I had to restore my drive from an image that was created 1-21-2017. When MS Solitaire Collection logged me in and Synced, it show that January's progress was incomplete. I completed all challenges for January.

    It does show that I completed 2-1-2017 Challenge, which I did before i restore the drive.

    Why did it not restore all of my progress for January? I also removed my MS account from my PC and added it again. but ut did not help. Is there a way to fix this and get my progress back?

    That's correct, they're stored in the cloud.

    I had to delete quite a few games as they refused to copy across to my external drive, after reinstalling them all saves were restored automatically.

    Xbox support couldn't help. I restored factory settings. After redownloading everything my account resynced with all the saves in the cloud so I could carry on my progress.

    What Files to Back Up to Prevent Reset?

    I restored the whole "Microsoft.MicrosoftTreasureHunt_8wekyb3d8bbwe" directory, including all its subdirectories/files, and ended up losing 105 levels of progress instead of all 152 levels of progress.

    However, that method may only work for the same user on the same machine with the same install of Windows and the same app version of Treasure Hunt. I tried a similar restore for Mahjong (I lost all my Mahjong medals in October after trying Windows 10)
    and I was unable to start Mahjong after restoring the data.

    If you have a second Windows 8.1 device, it might be safer to periodically open Treasure Hunt on that device as another user suggested in the "Reset" thread, which will give you a ready-to-go working backup if you need it.

    I had exactly the same: E101 then E102, E105 and E106.

    The first time I had my Xbox One X only six days .

    I had to take it back to the shop where they did an offline USB factory reset. I lost all that I had stored on the internal drive.

    I decided to use an external drive for all of my installs and use the internal for music, photos and videos.

    Another restore was required eight days later.

    I dowloaded the restore software from Microsoft, followed the instructions and got it running again.

    Problems with restore only seem to come about if I try to keep what is installed in the restore option. I have to lose everything.

    Disconnecting my external drive during this process usually prevents a return to a fail screen during restore too.

    After restore is done and I am back to the dashboard, I reconnect the drive.

    Checthat yor USB restoring files are not corrupt or missing. Re-download the file from Microsoft support site in the E101, E102, etc. section

    (an over 5gb compressed file).

    Hope there are some ideas for you to try.

    I had to do another restore today. Lost nothing but playing time.
