Not recognizing USB driveI'

I'm trying to plug in a thumb drive to play a few videos on my Xbox One, but it won't even recognize that I've plugged it in.

I've tried the troubleshooting provided on the site to no avail. I know the thumb drive works, as I've plugged it into multiple computers with no issue. I know the ports aren't bad I have an external hard drive connected to my Xbox and it works in all 3 of
them.

Any suggestions?

USB Drive Not Working with Elite Controller for Xbox One

My son says his Elite controller is not recognizing his USB drive.

Any suggestions.

Having this issue with the new dashboard also having an issue with it not recognizing my usb mic not sure if that's dash related as well or not

If you are plugging in a separate USB with videos, have you tried downloading and launching the Media Player application?

Let me know if that app recognizes the USB.

I have the media player app installed. No joy. The only thing the app seems to recognize is my modem/router.

 

Still no luck. Can anyone recommend anything else?

 

Make sure its NTFS formatted also some reported that some wouldn't be recognised while an external was plugged in.

 

Is your USB encrypted by any chance?

 

I have the same problem, using a usb stick to play movies on xbox one. used to work no problems until one day decided to not recognise it at all in the media player app. no settings have been altered just gave up all by itself. have been all over the internet
with no success so any help would be appreciated
