    Hi there,

    Apparently this is a known issue but i cannot see anything about it. (mainly because there is another disc tray issue that is overshadowing it)

    This doesnt happen all the time but it has happened maybe 6 times or more since release.

    I insert a disc into the xbox one, i hear it do something (spin the disc or whatever) and nothing happens. The icon on the home screen for the disc still says insert disc.

    Last night i had a terrifying experience. i inserted Forza and it took maybe 6 attempts to get it to work, and a couple of those times i heard a horrible noise come from the xbox. not a massive grinding sound like people have reported on the other issue.
    more of a clunk.

    Has anyone else experienced this issue? and if so is it related to the main disc tray issue? and should i get my xbox replaced?

    My X box 360 can not read any disc

    My Xbox 360 is not reading any discs and whenever I insert a disc it says open tray .Is there any solution to this problem,id there is please tell me.

    My Xbox 360 won't read some discs. Help?

    I am having trouble with my xbox (My xbox is one of the older versions not the slim one) reading discs. It says "open tray" almost everytime I insert a disc. The weird thing is that It's not having any issues when I try to play Halo 3,Halo 4 and NBA 2k12 . But when I try to play some of my others games like NBA 2k13,Battlefield 3 (This one is brand new) ,GTA IV,MW2,Bioshock 2 my xbox won't read the disc or after opening and closisng the tray a lot of times it will read the games but then I get the "Disc is Unreadable." message after a few minutes. Does anyone else have experienced this issue?

    I had the same issue bud and unfortunately it more than likely will only get worse. I would suggest calling support and getting the process started.

    I did the advanced exchange program in which they send a console to you before you send your broken one to them. It all went smoothly i started the process this previous weekend(Sat 4th Jan) received my replacement console on Tuesday 7th checked it worked(all
    good), packaged and took my broken console to the UPS drop point this morning.

    Take note that doing the advanced exchange program will require a hold on your CC or payment option for the amount of the console being sent to you. The hold will be released once they receive your broken console.

    Your other option is to use the standard repair process with this you send your console out to MS for repair and wait for return. From what ive seen so far this process takes about 2 weeks from sending for repair to return to you.

    Hmmmmm I cant do the advanced option unfortunately. Surely with this being a manufacturer fault i can return it to the store i purchased it from and get a replacement?

    That's also a option it would all depend on when your purchased the console and the stores return policy(average being 28 days from purchase). Also if you purchased a warranty from that store you will more than likely have the option to return to them also(after
    28 days). Check your receipt/warranty information or call/visit the store.

    The shop i got it from has a 1 year warranty on it so i am good till November this year. I will have to keep an eye on this then and hope it doesnt get worse.... Or hope it does so i can get a new console that works fully... they should be releasing a new
    version of it in the next few months so hopefully it breaks around then so i can get a newer model

    The likeliness of a new version of the console being released anytime soon is very slim tbh. Also generally with electronics the only way you ever get a upgrade under warranty is if the previous line is being ended and no longer sold.

    Or stores offer the option to upgrade such as when many stores offered upgrade programs from the original 360 to the slim model(console plus cash). This would require a check done on your console to check its fully working which as stated it is not.

    Its completely up to you but i wouldn't mess around with something like this your symptoms wont magically get better and you would be best sorting it out as soon as possible rather than waiting.

    Completely up to you though.
