    So in the past 2 weeks my Xbox One has began not reading disc. I'm having to insert and ejecting 25-30 times in a row before it finally does. I got one of the early Xbox Ones back in Dec '13. So I finally get on the internet and find that it's a common
    issue among early Xbox Ones. However, those that immediately were affected were taking care of by having the console replaced or fixed since the company *** up. Well now Microsoft wants to charge me $115 to fix the issue just because my console managed to
    make it past the warranty.

    So I'm not really seeing why I need to pay the company to fix my system for an issue that was acknowledge by them as their fault. Why should I have to pay more because I was lucky enough that they built it to last at least a year?

    I need help, that won't cost me a dime or force me to pay what Microsoft wants from after I gave them $500 in the first place. I love Xbox, but this plus being a red ring victim with the 360 makes me want to jump in Sony's pond.

    Open Tray - Unable to read any discs.

    Open tray and disc reading issues.

    If this does not help then you likely need your console servicing.

    The standard warranty is 1 year OP so there will be a charge for a repair/service..

    Xbox 360 S Disc Tray only says open tray

    This has happened to me and it is a disc drive problem. The disc drive is having problems reading the disc. If it is under warranty i would suggest you send it in for repair. The problem will not fix itself, but will only get worst.....wont read disc no
    matter how many times you turn on/off your console. It will cost $100 to fix out of warranty.

    Xbox will only read certain discs.

    The laser in the DVD ROM is starting to fail on your Xbox - I've seen this myself on an old console. It will start with a few discs being flakey in terms of reading, while others work fine. Then some discs won't read at all and the others will start following
    this pattern until no discs read, giving you the "Open Tray" error where it doesn't even recognize a disc is inserted. A disc cleaner or blowing out dust might help for a short while, but your console will need repair. If it is less than a year old, then warranty
    will cover it. If it is out of warranty I believe the repair cost is about $100.

    Nothing? No help gro. Microsoft, no actual help here.

    So am i just stuck with an out of warranty unit that just happened to break after the one year warranty is up.

    Just tried to load up Doom Eternal and the disc wont read.

    Is this why people trade in an xbox for a ps4?

    Console can't read some game discs

    I had this issue as well. Later it turned into the Xbox One can't read any blu ray disc but only regular DVD. I had to send it to Microsoft to get it repaired. Lucky for me it was still under warranty.
