Not possible to connect Minecraft to a server

We have minecraft edition on the Xbox one, with an Xbox live gold account, but in miecraft there's no possibility to select a multiplayer/server game. What do we wrong?

Connect to external server using Windows 10 Edition

We are trying to us Minecraft Windows 10 Edition to connect to an external Minecraft serve for multiplayer. This was apparently possible at some point as a whole Kids Education curriculum for programming at Tynker.com is predicated on it. Is there some
Win 7 version I need to be using?

You are showing up as silver in the forums not gold. Are you logging on the XBOX using the same credentials that you are using in the forums.

I certainly have XBOX Live GOLD (I also have paid for it...). Where do you see that I'm just silver? I see a G in the figure (or has that nothing to do with Gold?)

Are you sure your Xbox is online and not in offline mode?

Also are you trying to join a friends game? Because you can only join games with people who you have added as friends. You can't just search for random worlds. If your looking for random ones you could always just search Google for Xbox one Minecraft servers
and add people who have their worlds up.

Simply put. No. It is not currently possible to play local multiplayer Java to bedrock Minecraft. (assuming your not running the Minecraft PS4 Edition of Minecraft). Which would still be no. There are plugins for java that allow bedrock clients to connect to java servers but that feature is not on current consoles. Sorry for the inconvenience. Happy gaming!

It sounds like you have done everything correctly to set up your Minecraft server, but there may be some additional steps you need to take to allow external devices to connect to it. Here are a few things you can try:

Check your router settings: Make sure that your router is set up to allow incoming connections on the port that your Minecraft server is using (usually 25565). You may need to set up port forwarding or a virtual server to allow external devices to connect to your server.

Check your network settings: Make sure that your Mac and your iPad/iPhone are on the same local network. If you are connecting to the server using a dyndns.org address, make sure that your network settings are set up to use the same DNS server as your Mac.

Check your firewall settings: Even though you mentioned that your iMac firewall is not activated, it's possible that there are other firewalls or security software on your network that are blocking incoming connections to your Minecraft server. Double-check your firewall settings to ensure that your server is allowed to receive incoming connections.

Test your server locally: Try connecting to your Minecraft server using the local IP address of your Mac (e.g. 192.168.x.x) from your iPad/iPhone. This will help you determine if the problem is with your network settings or with the server itself.
