    Not playing disc games. Have had this xbox for several years.


    I have read previous posts regarding this error where it will not play the game disc and tells me I don't own the game. This has gone on for several years randomly. I have tried what you told others to do but it does not appear to fix the problem. I would
    have thought the error would have been corrected in an update by now. We just got three new disc games for Christmas that we can't get to play.

    Domino Master is not working

    I can download game but when it comes to playing the game it ask me to place disc in or purchase from xbox live. I PURCHASED this game several years ago, my other games have worked well.

    Disc is Unreadable

    Hi, Have been playing Assassin's Creed II for about 3 weeks, about 1 week ago, I started getting "Game Error - This disc is unreadable" while playing it. I bought the game brand new and had no problems the first 2 weeks and had not even removed from my
    Xbox 360. I keep getting this error and have cleaned the disc several times. I see no dirt or scratches on the disc. Has anyone else experienced this before? I am about 1/2 done with the game, and don't want to stop as it does not happen constantly, but
    more and more frequently. Is this a defective disc or is something wrong with my Xbox CD-ROM? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    I install games that I play frequently, yes. It will freeze while playing an installed game, a game from disc only, arcade games, indie games, music videos, general/main dashboard menus, and apps. I have had my system freeze in this manner while playing
    Minecraft (Arcade, not disc) and having no disc in the system. Like I said in the first post, this same exact issue, same symptoms 100%, happens to several other friends of mine.

    Elite pro controller

    I have had an elite controller for several years with no issues. My son had one as well but plays so many games he wore it out after about 2.5 years. I would recommend it not sure if I will ever be able to play right without one though.

    I have discs for games and am being asked to renew Xbox gold which I have not had on some time. When I turn off the play online option, I’m not able to play anything. This just started today.

    I have an Xbox one that I’ve had for several years. I don’t play anything online. And haven’t had any type of Xbox gold or anything of the sort for at least 10yrs. Don’t know why this all started today.

    Disc not being read

    The problem is that you are trying to play several games that are 360 disc based on your xbox one and that are not part of the backward compatibility list. For example RE 4 has a new version for xbox one and you can't use the xbox 360 disc to play it (it
    will not read the disc at all)

    As for the rest of your disc based games (that are part of the bc list) check if they are scratched or damaged in the surface. There is no reason for a new console's disc driver to have problems in reading discs other than those caused by the damaged or
    unknown disc games

    From what I've been reading that has nothing to do with it... there are theories that range from all the side missions are on disc 2 / all priority missions on disc 1, to a combination of that and MP is on disc 1. I've even seen a few posts that claim they've
    played several side missions then went back to the main mission without changing discs... All I know is that I've had to change discs several times and my pattern seems to follow the "Main missions disc 1 - side missions disc 2" theory so far. And yes, BTW,
    I installed both discs. I do that for every game now, before I even play it the first time.
