Not needing cloud gaming but forced because of game?

I want to purchase the game Scorn through the MS store but it says it requires cloud gaming. I don't need cloud gaming. I always play on the console and in one location only. Is it necessary? Is there no option to buy and play a single-player game without spending an extra $15 a month for Ultimate?

Scorn is a Series only game. If you want to play the game and only have Xbox One, you must do so via the cloud. Only Fortnite can use the cloud without an Ultimate subscription at this time

I don't think they will force people to go to cloud gaming because there are so many people that would stop playing on Xbox Live.

Hi Edo,

To restore your game save files from the cloud, you need to have cloud saves enabled on your platform. Steam and Xbox Game Pass will automatically download your game progress from their online cloud servers for all your game data. I would assume since the game was force-closed, it was unable to save your progress.

@ Ookami SP wont be forced into online because of multiplayer it will however be a better game by been online take watchdogs for instance thats a SP game but the devs have stated its a more persistant world using the cloud making the game better overall
