    Not many xbox 360 titles are backward compatible


    XBox should make more of the xbox 360 games backward compatible especially the renowned titles. Specifically speaking, in my case, I wantto play previous titles of final fantasy and DMC (devil may cry) on the xbox one. I was quite shocked to find that many
    of these famouse titles, and man more, are not backward compatible. If anyone from xbox reads this, it is my humble request that you make more xbox 360 games backward compatible.

    Hello carlislemom2003,

    360 demos of titles are not backwards compatible with the Xbox One. If you wish to play Sonic, you will need to purchase the full game title as that is what is backwards compatible.

    Not many xbox 360 titles are backward compatible

    You can vote on games you would like to become backwards compatible at
    http://xbox.uservoice.com     but keep in mind it's also up to the publishers to allow the game to become compatible. So it's not just Microsoft that makes the decision.

    It's also not as simple as many people think. To get an Xbox 360 game to be backwards compatible isn't as simple as just gaining permission from the publisher, Microsoft pressing a button and that's it. Each and every game that has been made BC has had
    to be converted to software that the Xbox One understands. This reverse engineering takes months to accomplish. Then, when the game is running, it has to extensively tested. It's no small task.

    There are too many Xbox 360 games to add to the Backwards Compatibility and add the fact that it cost money for Microsoft to add games to Backwards Compatibility.

    In the long run, the only way that the Xbox One's Backwards Compatibility will replace the Xbox 360 is if all of its games are Backwards Compatible, a feat that could be done but most likely won't happend.

    My guess is that Microsoft will mostly focus on the popular titles with a sprinkle of not so popular titles every now and then.

    You can vote on games you would like to become backwards compatible at
    http://xbox.uservoice.com     but keep in mind it's also up to the publishers to allow the game to become compatible. So it's not just Microsoft that makes the decision.
