not letting me install a game

i got gta v for free and started playing it for months, it was only today when it stopped working and everytime i tried to launch the game it came up with an error saying “sign in with the account that installed this game or check your subscription” so i knew i had gotten the game with the account i was on and i checked my ultimate subscription and it was still active and running, so i restarted my xbox and tried to play it again but it still didn’t work, instead it came up with an error that asked me if i owned the game which i did but no matter what i did it wouldn’t let me launch it. so i decided i’d try to re install the game so i uninstalled it but when i tried to install it again it wouldn’t let me but said “choose edition, not sold separately” so now i’m really confused on what to do.

yes i got it with my ultimate game pass but thank you for telling me i feel so stupid doing all that

How did you get it for free? Were you playing it through Game Pass? GTA was removed from Game Pass today, so it would only be possible to play it if you previously purchased it or purchase it now.

Can you tell me briefly all the methods that you tried?
In that way I can advise you different things or how to proceed

In the meantime, may I know if you tried using a different wifi network?
For example sharing mobile data via wifi hotspot and connect your console in that way

Or what about using a different DNS address
go to Settings > Network > Advanced Settings

Once you’re inside the Advanced Settings menu, go to DNS settings and select Manual from the list of available options.
When you get to the next screen, enter 8.8.8.8 in the box associated with the Primary DNS and 8.8.4.4 in the Secondary DNS box.

Once the default DNS addresses have been changed, restart your console and see if the issue has been resolved at the next console startup.
(If that doesn't work use 1.1.1.1 as primary and 1.0.0.1 as secondary)
