Not gold but can still play online

At the moment i'm silver member and as far as i'm aware have no trials activated, but i can still join partys (only with myself in though not sure if that matters) and can play dark souls 2 online, i haven't checked anything else, i'm not sure if it's a
free weekend or something else, just wondering if anyone else knows anything thanks

Gold is still required to play online, but if someone is using a trial subscription they will be able to play online, but they will not have gold status.

 

The current profile is not allowed to play on Xbox Live

Not for online multiplayer. You no longer need gold to access apps, but you still need gold to play online.

 

What console are you using? If you're on the Xbox One and sharing the Gold subscription of another member via the Home Gold feature, then that would explain why you're able to go online. However, to fully check that you're on Gold, check if you can chat
with friends, join other people's parties, stream and watch videos online and go multiplayer, then that would confirm it.

 

I'm on 360 no one else uses the console but me i'm not able to youse youtube but i can play dark souls 2 online and nothing else

 

I'm on 360 i'm the only one using the console, i can't do anything a gold can bar play dark souls 2 online, probably something to do with ds2 then

 

same me never had subscribe for any gold and i can play any game online ( is it free weekend?? i didn't get any email? not like i don't want but hey thx anyway

 

I do not even know were to start on this one, I`d like you to attempt other games, Attempt to connect to Xbox Live Games that require "Gold", Keep me updated

 

i tried to download the games with gold and it says i need to be gold, i don't know any other game's the req gold
