    Not getting sound through my pioneer reciever


    It was working no problem before and all of sudden i get 2.0 out my pioneer reciever. Have tried everything on my xbox and nothing. All my other devices hooked up work fine blueray movies sound fine on xbox one but games, apps and home screen dont. I have
    bought a new xbox and same thing. Im desperate right now. Tried different hdmis, different ports and nothing. Other devices work fine. Reset receiver and nothing. It was working fine before and all of sudden it dont work

    Cannot use via my reciever

    I just bought an xbox 360 slim console after getting the fabled red ring of death on my last 360, and I had audio and video fed through my Pioneer reciever. On the old box, there was never any connectivity issue; the reciever would recognize the console
    and it would play just fine through HDMI. I tried connecting the slim today, using the exact same wires and connections, and I'm getting zero sound and picture. I tried using a different HDMI cable (which works with my PS3 and cable box), I tried using the
    included standard definition cables, and still I get zero picture.

    To test a potential hardware failure, I used the SD cables and hooked the console up to an old Magnavox I have. It turned right on and worked perfectly. And since the reciever is sending and recieving pictures and sound perfectly (including through the
    xbox HDMI input; I rerouted cable to go through there and it works fine), the obvious fact is that the 360 slim is not "speaking the same language" as my reciever. And the display reset gimmick doesn't do squat. I held down the Y and R Trigger for five minutes
    and nothing happened.

    Thoughts?

    Xbox One does not output audio

    So after getting some time and playing with it today I found it's not the Xbox but the pioneer itself. I was taking a break out of frustration, so I put on some music (The Pioneer is Bluetooth compatible) a few songs in, the sound just stopped. It was still
    connected and playing but no audio. I looked up how to reset my pioneer and I have audio with everything now!

    Hey Cheezes,

    Thanks for asking here in the forums. So, to start off, when you set-up your console on the alternate TV, the Pioneer receiver was not a part of the setup, correct? Also, if you set up your Xbox 360, bypassing the Pioneer on the original setup, do you
    also get sound?

    If both of those questions are answered with a 'yes', there may be a compatibility issue with the AVI codec that you used and the Pioneer. You may want to check with the settings on the reciever, or maybe a supported file format documentation for the receiver
    on the Pioneer website.

    Give those questions an answer, and take a look at the support for the Pioneer. Let us know what you find out.

    No Audio with Netflix

    I have the same problem, on netflix if the movie is not 5.1 NO sound. change the settings on xbox to didgital stereo no sound at all. Pioneer says i have a bad xbox, and xbox says i have a bad reciever. What a bunch of ***!! Best solution?? cancell netflix,
    cause everthing else works just fine.

    Awesome sound! I have a pioneer vsx-03txh 7.1 sound system with two subs one in front and wireless one behind the couch. All my speakers are working perfectly running on each individual channel in Thx Cinema mode!! It's like dolby digital on crack! It

    Xbox One randomly flicks my TV source to HDMI, then back when in 'instant on' mode.

    Ah ok cheers, yeah ive just one HDMI from the Xbox for picture to the tv (sound is through SPDIF to an AV receiver as its an older Pioneer with no HDMI).

    Just googling about with your suggestion and there's a whole 'Configure TV/AV reciever' part of the setup i must've completely bypassed where you can select tv make/model etc! Never seen that menu before, i just plugged and played. Embarassing! :(
