Not getting sent security code

hello? I would really appreciate an answer

The codes it sent you are they security codes or are you logged in on Xbox.com and wat are the codes ?

Did you get a code to your old Security proof?

Or did you update the old security proof to your new phone number and they sent a code to it to verify you have access to it?

If it is the second one then you will have to wait the 30 days.

Hi Klokkwork, do you have a source for that info? I have been using the Outlook.com email address for about a year, and I get all of my security codes sent to that email address. In fact, just now when on the phone with support, they sent a security code
there. I am not doubting your intent, but want to make sure accurate info is out there for others.

To see if the security information is correct:

Sign in to the Security Basics page with your Microsoft account.
Select Update Information .
You may need to enter a security code to access this page. Choose a method that works, or choose I don't have this to override the security info.
Does the alternate email end in @outlook.com, @hotmail.com, @live.com or @msn.com?
If so, you are using a Microsoft account to verify another Microsoft account. This can make it difficult to keep track of which one was used to sign in. Upon logging into the second account (to get the code sent to that email), most browsers automatically log you out of the first account (the one requesting the code).

To get the security code:

In a browser in privacy mode, sign in with the first account. So you can log in to both accounts at the same time.
When you are asked to enter the security code sent to the alternate email, do not close your browser window.
Open a new window in privacy mode. Ctrl + Shift + P is the shortcut for InPrivate Browsing in Microsoft Edge and Internet Explorer. If you use another browser, see the program's help for information about privacy mode.
In the new window, sign in to your alternate email account and look for the message sent by the Microsoft accounts team. Copy or write down the security code from the message.
Go back to the window where you are asked for the security code. Enter the code and follow the instructions.
