not getting invites or messages

i got a xbox one s yesterday and i set it up and everything i have a xbox in my room and the xbox s in my game room the one in my bedroom is logged in to the same account and was my first xbox and it gets messages and invites but my new slim xbox does not

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help with this. For a good few days now, I`ve not been getting invites or messages on Xbox One and it really ruins the console for me. I know that everyone says to hard reset and things like that, go to notifications and
turn them on, go to account privacy and allow invites from friends - I`ve tried everything and it`s done nothing. I really want to know how to fix this, otherwise I`ll be turning to PS4 because the social aspect of Xbox Live is the things that I enjoy the
most, and when I can`t use Xbox live properly, I just get fed up and don`t want to play.

Hey Megahurts!

If you haven't yet, the first thing you'll want to do is
power cycle your console. This can resolve a lot of common issues, like notifications not working properly. You can also try power cycling your home network by unplugging everything for 5 minutes and then plugging it all back in and rebooting it.

Hopefully one of those resolves things as those are by far the least painful troubleshooting steps to try. Keep us posted!

Good Afternoon Nickysav91. If you get me a little more information I might be able to help you out.

1. Have you set up the Xbox S as your Home Xbox?

2. Have you verified that your Xbox S is connected to the internet?

3. Are you attempting to use them both at the same time?

Anything additional you can provide would be helpful so I can assist in getting you squared away.

 

you did what, exactly? For starters, you can't have two Xbox's set as your Home Xbox as far as I know. Secondly, if your logged into both at once it can cause issues. Have you made sure not to cause a conflict by doing either of those things?

 

i set the one that is not getting invites as my home and before i use one xbox i make sure to shut of the other

 

I don't know brother... the only other thing I would have you check would be are notifications enabled in your settings? I just helped a guy who had a similar issue and that solved it.
