    Not enough space


    I have a new XBox One S 1T

    I have no games and only a few apps like youtube and something to play mp4 movies.

    I copied 8 movies to the harddrive Video folder.

    Trying to copy movie 9 I get message not enough space.

    I deleted all movies and started over. This time I got 7 movies copied before I got the error.

    I have tried Hard reset and clear persistent memory. Still same.

    Only thing I have not done is set to factory settings.

    It says I have 0.2% used with the 7 movies on the disk.

    So what gives with this machine? This is 2017. Copying files to a hard drive was figured out by Microsoft back in the 80's

    Thanks for reading. Hope someone has a real fix other than turn it on and off.

    not enough space

    You can go through your achievement list and delete anything that has 0 achievements. Other than that you can't. In the grand scheme of things your account shouldn't be taking up that much space anyway. Only a few megs tops.

    I have this same issue on my Xbox One X 1TB. Settings>Storage says I have 308 GB free, but I can't transfer an additional 2GB video file. (I have successfully transferred 7 video files already, each 1.5 to 2.8GB, from USB key copied to local device "videos"
    folder. The below image shows what happens when I try to copy an eighth video file (1.8GB) >> an error prompt. What gives?...there is plenty of space available (318GB).

    You can go through your achievement list and delete anything that has 0 achievements. Other than that you can't. In the grand scheme of things your account shouldn't be taking up that much space anyway. Only a few megs tops.

    Clearing the system cache can free up space, but those are patches downloaded for games to fix bugs. Good idea if you have a lot of games you no longer play or rented.

    ...you will need to free up space. Even if you free up 5.87, you will have nothing left for game saves etc!

    -

    I recommend you 'clearout' your HD of anything you don't need.

    For example you might think about deleting:

    -any game saves for games you don't own any more

    -any profiles of people you don't see any more

    -any Demos that you no longer need

    -any games you have on disk but have installed on the HD, but that you don't play regularly

    -any films/videos that you don't watch any more (or if they are from zune/netflix/lovefilm then any that have 'expired')
