Not detecting hard drive after recent update

I seem to be the only one having this issue, have done many searches only to find nothing, I have tried everything the trouble shoot mentioned with no luck, I've been using the hard drive for the media player and it has worked fine until the recent update
happened and ever since it hasn't worked, the hard drive itself works fine for anything else I plug it into so it's definitely something on microsofts end, would appreciate some answers if anyone has had this issue before

My Xbox is not detecting my hard drive and it's saying i should format it. My question is will i lose my Xbox live account on my hard drive after words?

 

I have this same issue! And have been racking my brain trying absolutely everything! Even plugged my HD into my boyfriend's XBox One which has also been updated and it won't read on that either!

Someone please help us!!!!

 

You aren't the only one they are, already are aware of this bug and they are doing their best to patch it. A forum staff member, (Mister Mascot) already cleared it all up so no worries.

All I want to know is if the update caused this issue or not, I mean it worked fine before the update, I even restored my entire Xbox to factory settings and still did not resolve the issue, it did however ask if I wanted to use the drive for media or to
format it, when I click media that's when the drive just becomes undetected and won't detect until I restore the Xbox, the latest update definitely caused issues for media use on drives

 

Sadly enough i cannot tell you the cause of the issue.

All i know is a patch is on it's way soon hopefully.

Any new info on the hard drive issue? Haven't seen anything posted by Microsoft and no new updates, hopefully they fix this soon because it really sucks not being able to use a core feature of the Xbox

 

No new information, Delta. They are still working on it, though! If I get anything new, I will be sure to jump in here to update you.

 

This is ridiculous. That's nearly 2 full weeks I've got an external hard drive full of content that I cannot access because the last update was flaky.

Can we have an official microsoft reply and estimated arrival of the "patch" to return it to how it should be please ?

I have to agree with d3xt3r1874 here, to be honest it is taking them quite some time to fix such a core feature without even giving us any information of when we'll get to use our hard drives again. You'd figure they would be a bit hasty with this fix because
it's very inconvenient especially when half or more of your game library is on the external hard drive. Games that we have bought with our own money are now unplayable unless you remove games from the internal hard drive itself which is still inconvenient
because then you have to download them again and not everyone has an unlimited data cap ISP.
