Not Detecting DirectTv Box

I have had XXox One since launch, and it has always worked fine. Recently however, it does not detect my DirectTV box signal unless I unplug, and plug back in, the HDMI wire in the back of the Xbox.

Any thoughts why this would start doing this?

XBox One Requires IR to Control DirectTV but I need RF to work (lost cause?)...

I just got an Xbox One and it seems that
requires IR (line of sight) to control my DirectTV box. For reasons too long to explain, I
MUST HAVE my DirectTV be configured to use
RF (shoots through walls). I believe most "remote extenders" actually convert
IR->RF->IR (the last step converting
back to IR).

This last "step" in the remote extender process would require that my DirectTV box be configured to
IR (which I can't do).

I really just want IR->RF so the Xbox IR will be converted to RF (but
NOT back to IR).

Does anyone have any ideas?

To clarify, did you previously set up a cable box with your Xbox One? I was under the impression your Xbox One was not detecting your TV.

Sorry to hear about the TV issue! First I have a couple questions. How often are you having to unplug and plug back in? Is there a specific event that triggers this to happen? For now, I suggest trying a different HDMI cable and see if the issue persists,
that will help us narrow down the issue!

Try a different HDMI cable and post back to let us know how it goes!

 

Hi and Thanks for the reply. I will try that first. It happens once a day, and I can't pinpoint why it happens. We recently got the Direct TV Genie... but not sure if that has anything to do with it. I will let you know

 

I'm having a similar issue, except it is with the AT&T U-Verse receivers. It detects the video portion of the receiver, but not the audio portion. I have to turn off the receiver and quit the TV app a number of times before the console plays both the video
and audio. It takes a minimum of 2 times and at most 6 times before the audio picks up. However, this did not start until the October update and the November update made it worse. I've tried holding down the power button to restart the console, tried different
HDMI cables. However nothing works.

Same thing here, I kept losing my TC connection on a launch console, sole it and bought a 1 terabyte console and I keep getting a signal loss error on it as well, I have Cox for cable. I have had issues with said error code on both systems now, I have reset
my cable box with the HDMI cord unplugged as Cox suggested, ( it resets the HDMI input on the cable box ) It sometimes works but having to do this multiple times everyday sucks guys. AND...the problem should not be happening on two different consoles. Looking
at a black screen right now, even after resetting the xbox one and Cable box.

 

Follow up: After just running my DVR directly back to the TV, resetting my DVR..it all works fine, I have had to do this with my first xbox one as well, Proving it is the actual Xbox system and not the TV, DVR, HDMI cable. Microsoft, you really need to
get on this and the fact I am constantly having to reset my Xbox one due to unresponsive commands from my game controller Or Microsoft Xbox one remote.
