Not Connected to Xbox Live Even Though I'm Signed in and in a Party

So my old modem/router was dying and I shelled out $160 for a Netgear N600 two in one. My friend who knows a lot more about computer networking and that sort of thing helped me set up my 360 and Xbox One because I was having worse connections than before
despite this being a far superior router than my last one. Well my 360 dashboard will often times say I'm not connected to Xbox Live even though I can still use most apps and talk to my friends. Most of my friends' voices are choppy though. I have full ping
and an Open Nat and we even set up my QoS to prioritize my xboxes over my computer and such. What are some of the optimal settings for an xbox 360 wirelessly? I have the two pronged wireless adapter and theres a second channel my router came with thats 5hz
and is supposed to have less interference but in my experience that one has less ping and barely works for my 360. The 24 hz seems to be better. Maybe there's some fancy DNS or DMZ type stuff that could help my 360?

We got a 50ft ethernet cable (my xboxes and computer are about 30 ft apart) for my xbox One which has solved issues I was having on there from before where I wasn't able to load my friends list or connect to Destiny's servers but I'm still having Party issues
on their despite the Open Nat and solid ping. My friends voice sounds really robotic which before when I had my crappy router, I was able to talk to him just fine and had no lag in coop Diablo 3. I'm also experiencing what seems to be an issue for lots of
people on Xbox One where your friend cant hear you or their mic wont show up in party. We usually only have to leave and start a new party once but last night it took 6 or 7 tries. His internet has an open NAT as well and like 65 mbs download speed so I know
his internet is fine and even though my internet is only about 7mbs download speed, I've never had so many issues before. Unfortunately the way my entertainment system is setup, it's kind of a major nuisance trying to switch the ethernet cable back and forth
between the 360 and Xbox One. But I've never had so much trouble with my 360 on a wireless connection before and this modem/router should be far superior to my old one.

Sidenote: I know there is a networking section to the forums but I was unable to find my model of modem/router in either the modems or routers section and it doesnt seem to let you make a thread for one that's not listed.

Same issue. Also, when selecting "Online Game" from the menu, it says I must be connected to Xbox Live even though I'm signed in with a gold gamertag.

Just downloaded it and after the first track I get a message saying I can't post scores online as I'm not connected, even though I'm signed into Live. A few teething problems, it seems.

 

Sounds like the router is not very compatible with xbox live so it's causing problems.. If it's possible borrow another router from a friend and see if you still have those problems. If it's the router's fault there is a list of compatible router's with

Also if you want both consoles connected with ethernet without having to switch one cable there is this device called ethernet switch that has multiple ports of ethernet (1 in 2 or more out)
