Not committing to this dodgy present download system

back in 2k16 the xbox product range hit its peak in sales of consoles namely the xb1 because they were being sold at around £200 with a kinect, controller and a game. This was a reasonable price.

Then came the part that was not really marketed well... users had to sign up to outlook or live to use the console and the console needs to be connected to the internet with no other way known to me to set it up. So to clarify I was pretty much forced to
subscribe to a internet provider or risk not being able to gain access to my console if something went wrong, which was a bad marketing decision.

Secondly if I lost access to my email I would loose access to my console saves and any games and dlc, which was a bad marketing decision.

There was never any real clarification as to how the system was to be governed and no real promises or definate way that my dlc and download games would remain safe and readily available for me to access and play.

I could never commit to this mess of a system especially when I lost my first account because of the way the console handles sign in I was blocked and I had recently lost my mobile phone so I could not recover the account, which made me say to myself the
most I am prepared to loose to this system would be around the £100 mark.

The next account I set up I made the profile so that I would never sign out, so I do not loose my account the same way I lost my first. That has worked quite well for me but left my console vunerable if stolen, so I thought the security features were just
a failure and pretty much a wall to the user before a criminal.

I started to buy a few games and dlc but after 3 games without all the dlc I was near to the £100 limit I set as an acceptable loss. I had a console and 3 incomplete games which was now starting to add up, I done a bit of market research and calculated that
if I wanted to have 3 complete games I would have to spend at least another £150, which I found unacceptable if I was to loose this much to the system. So I never bothered buying the rest of the games dlc's. I found 2 games that I could buy with all dlc for
an acceptable price of around £30 in total, mvc3 which I enjoy as its been a well loved fighter genre since dreamcast. and zombie runemdown game with a taxi that I never play, I was stuck with a game I dont like.

I got gtav for £25 on disc because it was cheaper that way but the trolls connection problems force quitters ear rappers and just pure unsporting mission behaviour that just wrecked gta and made me say screw this game.

I thought downloads would allways be cheaper than disc for obvious reasons but as it turns out the online store keeps the titles pretty much as if they are the standard price but the disc games can now be bought for a fraction of the price.

Out of my online experience I only found good entertainment from world of tanks which will remain my number 1 online game,

p2p gaming will never get my custom again as this is not suitable for online gaming namely naruto sun4 but its a great offline game.

Not too long ago dragonball fighterz was released and I just had to get that and I've totaly set my limit to stop here. dragon ball fighterz is excellent offline game but i need an arcade stick and buttons which I've decided if I get one I should get two
but what if I loose access to my games? what will I do with these accessories? So I thought its not worth it.

A year had gone by and my gold run out and I'm over my set limit I had planned to loose without remorse or regret and theres no way I'm getting gold just to play tanks, I'd played around 50000 battles @ 15 minutes a battle online but enough was enough, it
was time to stop.

If I was to complete my game collection dlc's and get accesories I would'nt be happy when the day comes that the xbox dies and I loose my games.

I would have spent about £150 month on this console if it wasn't for the extortion prices to buy a complete games, and all the bad online experiences that wrecked all games but 1. (I will forever miss you world of tanks.) and the fear of acccount loss settled
the argument foreveer.

I give up online gamiing. I'm not buying anything else through fear of account loss. And if things stay the way they are in this industry I will never return.

All there is to think of now is what shall I move onto?

When will the download problems be fixed?

I was thinking about asking almost this exact question but kinda knew i would get the same dodgy, robotic answer from every other post about downloads. The downloading of content has been messed up for 3 and a half days now... which is not to be expected
from a company like microsoft. You sure could take my money, please fix the system so I can now download the game I've already paid for.

 

How to download present

You could create another account to get the code and hold onto the code until Christmas. Other then that I don't think there is any way to do so.
