    I have to think that game devs set out to make the best games they possibly can make. Thus I don't blame devs, but rather the system they have to program their games to run on.

    IF it can be proven that game devs don't look to make the very best games with Native 1080p and frame rates of 60 FPS and higher in mind. Then said devs games should be avoided altogether by consumers. If, however. It's the system that devs can't program
    for then that system should be avoided.

    I think for the most part the consumer has spoken loudly as to which is actually at fault.

    If forza can manage 1080p 60fps without the new sdk's then that can only mean one thing it is the devs coz it sure as *** ain't the system. Even destiny is exactly the same as the ps4 version. The beta comparison said it was near identical even to the one
    version was at 900p

    Thus as consumers. We, through our purchases have been programed, if you will. To expect, and demand the best visuals, and frame rates possible.

    I do agree ElectroFlying, good post. With that being said, now why is it such a big deal, if you are not as I believe GG said, having a side by side, the same game being played at the same time, with the same TV's exact TV set up. You would never know,
    other than people just saying it on the internet. The differences are hardly noticeable as the above poster said, with Destiny running in 900p and 1080p. But with that being said, I would like it to be 1080 60fps, but for me if it is not, that isn't going
    to be the end all be all.

    f00xm4n every game is different and pushes the hardware differently. You saying Forza is 1080/60 therefore games that don't hit those numbers =lazy devs is no different to saying Tetris hits 1080/60 therefore Ryse = lazy devs. It's false logic. Forza uses
    baked lighting, basic backgrounds etc and hits 1080/60. Golf Club obviously pushes the x1 more as the dev said at 1080 they couldn't get the frame rate where they wanted it to be.

    I concur. Our eyes can't tell the difference between 900p and 1080p Yet here's the thing.

    We (consumers) went from dial-up at $10.00 a month back during MS 1st outing in console gaming to Road-Runner Cable at $60.00 and above a month just because we wanted and expected the best. When playing on-line and our net services dropped TWC got an ear
    full from us consumers. Now they are doing far better at providing net services than they were just a year ago.

    Same thing applies to console gaming. If we pay for a 2nd rate system/games which we expected 2B 1st rate. We get steamed! And since we've no better way of complaining. We purchase not the system we've backed for two generations. But rather it's competition.
    Or in my case. Neither!

    A golf game is demanding because of all the detail that needs to be rendered in 3D to make the environments seem real. It needs to be re-rendered every time the view changes as it does when the ball is struck, when you use previews or as the ball flight
    is tracked. Multiple cameras are in place. If the game looked like Minecraft it wouldn't be an issue. Rendering grass and hundreds or thousands of trees and modeling ball physics and wind and water and making them look real and react as people expect takes
    resources. The game is not just displaying a static backdrop to shoot at and it has to run at a smooth frame rate or it would be unplayable. This is not a trivial issue.

    OP said he plays on a 106" screen. The difference should be clear at anything up to 6m viewing distance. But heres the thing. When we moved from 7th gen to 8th gen consoles, the graphics didn't seem THAT much of a leap. But have you gone back to your 360
    recently? You never noticed before, but now the graphics seem a little stuttery?

    Since the SDK update where the resources for Kinect were freed up developers have been having a much easier time reaching 1080p.

    Guess that goes to show that 10% held back made a difference.

    Honestly though, native 1080p and upscaled 1080p have relatively little difference between them. I'd argue that if you didn't know about it, you wouldn't even care what resolution the game was running at. It takes pinpointing and nitpicking minute differences
    with hardware and software designed to find said differences, by sites who like to get as many clicks as possible to make money, for the majority of you to even notice.

    Several other studios have managed or are doing so now to create games far more hardware taxing than any golf game should be, running at 1080/60 or at least 1080/30. This isn't "laying blame at the developers' feet', it is simply calling a spade a spade.

    Whatever their excuse, lack of staff/resources, etc., considering what is already proven to be possible on what most would consider to be a "higher level", this game falls short not because of the capabilities of the xb1 hardware. Whatever effort was needed
    to make it happen for this particular game, they fell short. Oh well, it happens.
