No one has to like everyone's opinion but respecting them is another story. Resolution can be a touchy subject so let's keep it civil pretty pleaseeeeee.

 

Several other studios have managed or are doing so now to create games far more hardware taxing than any golf game should be, running at 1080/60 or at least 1080/30. This isn't "laying blame at the developers' feet', it is simply calling a spade a spade.

Whatever their excuse, lack of staff/resources, etc., considering what is already proven to be possible on what most would consider to be a "higher level", this game falls short not because of the capabilities of the xb1 hardware. Whatever effort was needed
to make it happen for this particular game, they fell short. Oh well, it happens.

Give game devs an actual purpose built gaming "rig" / in this case a Console. And watch what happens.

Wii U has allot of 1080p titles, it's just that theres no Full RGB option. Considering this doesn't seem to work on the XB1 (PC Mode) You would hope to think the hardware was able to at least perform 1080p. This isn't that strange for MS, remember the 360
had the weirdest Gamma curve and it ran games just fine. This golf game will be fine on 720p, I'm confident we won't be stuck forever with this developmental issue. In my mind it's still a new console, I've been playing Dark Souls on PS3 for over 70 hours
(Played 360 version b4)and it looks and plays worse then the 360, But it is such a briiliant game it doesn't matter. If the game is good then it's good, new hiccups for a console is nothing new and people need to be patient.

 

For sure its the developer fault like above says forza 2 is 1080p and many more.

Also 1080p does not mean you will get the best graphics.Look At Ryse son of rome voted best next gen graphics

Right, yes I know the PS4 is more powerful than Xbox One, is this the deciding factor in your choice of console? I don't believe so, if it was and resolutions was the be all and end all for us, a lot more wouldn't have even bothered with either console and
would be investing money in a decent gaming PC.

I do believe a lot of Xbox One's so called problems in achieving 1080p is the Operating System, quite a few developers are finding it tricky but it seems to be getting easier now. As said in this thread though, the XB1 is perfectly capable, I've been playing
Forza 5 since day one in 1080p/60fps.

As Messiah said above and this is the funny thing that a lot of sites recently have voted Ryse Son of Rome the best looking next gen game so far and it isn't even 1080p lol

Sales numbers ( which I see mentioned here ) Now I'm not saying Xbox One will ever pass PS4 or even close the gap but lets wait 12 months when it's available in as many regions and see what the figures say then because at this moment in time no-one knows.
I still remember the terrible start the PS3 had but it got there in the end and I personally believe overall it will be the games that do the talking so take your pick.

 

Since the SDK update where the resources for Kinect were freed up developers have been having a much easier time reaching 1080p.

Guess that goes to show that 10% held back made a difference.

Honestly though, native 1080p and upscaled 1080p have relatively little difference between them. I'd argue that if you didn't know about it, you wouldn't even care what resolution the game was running at. It takes pinpointing and nitpicking minute differences
with hardware and software designed to find said differences, by sites who like to get as many clicks as possible to make money, for the majority of you to even notice.

 

So the PS4 is more powerful and has better graphics, whoop tee doo. It is pretty pathetic that next gen consoles were not designed powerful enough for a 1080P 60 FPS standard though.

 

The ps4 is really not more powerful. It was designed to do a job. It can't do what the X1 can and vice versa. Silly comparison fans...
