    Not allowed to buy gifts for friends


    I bought a game for a friend and he cant download it because he is in a different region. I either need to be reimbursed or a new code needs to be generated for my friend.

    Why have the "buy as gift" option if i cant buy for my friends. We play online together 90% of my friends online are from other regions. And i am sure the same goes for most people who play online. Most the people on our friends list don't live in the same
    country as us.

    I cant see how it would be difficult to generate a code for your region as you accept the gift.

    Xbox and Microsoft should do what Steam does and allow people to buy games as a gift and that person is then able to directly gift that item/game to family/friends xbox accounts. Used it hassle free with Steam and would get rid of this clunky system!

    Once the game releases, you should be able to buy it as a gift. They just don't allow the gift option on pre-orders.

    Unfortunately, it is not possible to gift a subscription. However, you can purchase a digital code for an Xbox Gift Card from the Microsoft Store website. The website allows you to adjust the amount of money that you want to put on the code. Fill up the gift card with the amount of money required to buy the subscription. You will receive the prepaid code by email so you can give the code to your friend, have your friend redeem the gift card and purchase the subscription with the currency. Keep in mind, this process does not work if you and your friend are from different countries.
