    Not all steam games will load.


    I have one steam game that will load just fine with no problems and one that will not load whatsoever. It acts like it will but never does and I bought and paid for it since the Micosofts version stays stuck in windows mode no matter what I do. (Age of Mythology)

    I have tried and go in and fix the window mode for the game from a 0 to a 1.

    Went in and made a new account on windows 11 and that didn't work either the game still will not load.

    Changed the refresh rate from 75hz back to the normal 65 to see if anything happens. (If it did work do you think I would be here now?)

    I have tried to change the graphic settings (windows picks, high, and low) All three will not bring the game up.

    I have uninstalled it and reinstalled the game.

    I have reinstalled Steam as well too.

    Checked for a windows update.

    Made sure my steam games are up to date as well too.

    I was hoping to play this game not whenever Steam decided to let me play this game.

    As the other steam game I have runs just fine it's the only one besides DC Universe (Never could get that thing to load so I removed it) now this game is acting the same way as that one as well.

    Any help would be lovely.

    Oh I run a windows 11 computer FYI.

    Not all steam games will load.

    If you want, you can try the previously advised options, in that way you're going to cover everything from your side.

    But as you said the CD Rom version works, everything points to an issue with the Steam version of the game and not Windows itself

    I see, your PC always had Windows 11? or the issue happened even on Windows 10?
    And, may I know if you tried installing a previous version for your graphics card driver (downloading it via manufacture site)

    I can advise you another 3 things before contacting Steam support or Game developer:

    1. Run the SFC tool to find and repair possible system corruptions

    2. Perform an in-place upgrade for your system)don't worry your content will remain)

    3. (Optional) Go back to windows 10 or perform a custom installation for windows (in case you want to go back to 10 or reinstall 11)

    My computer has always had windows 11 on it. and the card is up to date I know that because I had issues before that turned out to be my web browser. And everything windows wise its up to date. I had another steam game that I had downloaded lately and did the same problem as well and that should have worked as the third game does work and still works even after Steam kept with all its updates as well. As I have tried to get the game to run by going into the folder and clicking launcher and AOMX as well and it crashed with an error.

    For **** and giggles, I tried my CD Rom version and it installed fine and loads just fine as well and the problem I had before with it is gone. So my guess is there is a problem with steam if the CD rom version works of the same game but the steam version does not. (I stopped using the CD Rom version is because it was always stuck in windows mode and nothing I did got it out of it. even that whole button thing for making it full screen didn't work.)

    I have tried to find the compatibility mode and it's not there at all. I did check that. And it said it was fine its something steam as fracking did to the game and can't seem to get around to getting there head out of there butts and put it back to rights.

    you can try compatibility mode, just go to the installation folder and find the correct application file. also try going to properties for the game in steam and check the integrity of the game.
