Not able to transfer game files, why?

I've been bothered by this for a long time but I can't seem to understand why it won't.

My issue is with the Left 4 Dead series and another game that will not transfer or copy to USB or another memory device for my Xbox 360 and I wish to know why. The error I get is: This item cannot be transferred between profiles.

I plan on getting a new harddrive but this is the issue I'm dealing with currently with these 3 games. Does anyone know why I can't and/or how to fix this?

Your files will not be in a readable state by your PC via the USB stick. This is intentional. Your best bet is to use the official transfer cable, as it will be able to transfer files that are not able to be copied nor moved any other way.

gears 3 bata transfer

Unless it's been deleted there is a file save labeled "Gears of War 3 Beta" under:

My Xbox > System Settings > Memory > Hard Drive > Games

You should be able to use a transfer cable or flash drive (or whatever you're using to transfer your data) to transfer this file.

Some developers lock game saves so they can't be moved via a usb or other memory devices.

I think they will move if you use a transfer cable when you get your new hard drive but i'm not 100% sure.

I just got a 32GB Flash Drive and Formatted it. I was hoping I can move some of the larger game files I have to it, but they are not allowed to be transferred. So I then decide to move my Downloaded games, Arcade games and other lighter games to the Flash
drive and discovered 2 things.

1) Data transfer through the Xbox 360's USB is slow.

2) There are no group transfers. You move each individual file. Got a bunch of snapshots in DOA5? You're going to have to move each one of them on it's own.

It would be nice if we were able to select groups of files in some sort of data manager application, select a transfer and shut down option. That way the system could move the files we wanted while we can step away from the console. I'm surprised that Microsoft
didn't create this sort of app, seeing that the system will immediately let the player know if a file can't be transferred and knows how slow data transferring is. Perhaps the long transfer rates is why they kept the maximum flash drive size at 32GB?

You are able to chose the files that are transferred. Other option, is a flash drive, where you can copy what you want to it, plug it into your new xbox and transfer your data that way. One last thing to keep in mind, some save games like viva pinata
for example can't be moved. Not sure why, just can't do it. I hope this was of some help.
