    Not able to run blue-ray disc


    Hi all,

    Today i got my first blue-ray 3d movie but not able to run on my Xbox One console. i have installed the blue-ray player on console as well.

    Error Message

    We are having trouble reading this. Make sure this is a Blu-Ray or DVD. If it's a game, launch it from your game apps instead

    I hate having to download every game!

    Better graphics and sound = larger file sizes...Larger file sizes = Blue Ray Disc....Blue Ray Disc = currently not able to offload those files in real time fast enough. Sorry

    Mandatory Install With Only 500GB

    Blu-ray is fast enough to run a game off the disc. A 4x blu-ray drive has a faster data transfer rate than a DVD drive running at 12x.

    The difference is that a blu-ray drive runs at a constant speed, it will always run at 4x (in this example). So while you can run a game off a blu-ray it isn't an ideal situation.

    Plus hard drives are always going to be quicker than optical drives.

    My guess is, the Blu-ray BD-R or BD-RE which is not supported by the Xbox One

    The above quote is from the Xbox feedback website, about adding BD-R Blu-ray support however that does not guarantee BD-RE. it is however in progress at the moment and will be added as a future feature.

    This feature was inadvertently included in the release notes for the July update. It is scheduled for a future system update; we will update this idea when the feature is officially available.

    No.



    Blue Ray just holds more storage space.



    The technology is compression.



    You don't need a Blue Ray disc but Sony are desperate to try and tell you that you are.



    Otherwise why else would you pay twice as much for your films and buy their games?



    I love how the picture quality on some DVD's magically improves when they run the commercial for "Blue Ray".



    Just goes to show how gullible some people are.

    Xbox Series X suddenly not reading DVDs, Xbox 360 discs, or past generation Xbox one discs. Series X compatible discs work fine.
