not able to play online multiplayer on ps4 due to privacy settings

Try to clear your cache to restart the login process: Settings > Applications > Minecraft on your PS4

If you delete the family account even if you didn’t make one (i didn’t either) then click the link after http://account.xbox.com/settings then you should be able allow online
multiplayer play or whatever its called then when you get in the game it might say (Coming soon) depending on when you see this

I went to that website and signed in but it took me to a Microsoft support website with how to change your child's Xbox privacy and online safety settings. There is a link on the website which takes us to another website in order to change the privacy settings
but it just opens the same Microsoft support website. And as for unlinking my account and signing in with a different Microsoft account it tells me it was unable to unlink the account and to check my internet connection.

My user is not a child account

please go to
http://account.xbox.com/settings

and double the safety settings like Multiplayer, Allow User created content etc. are enabled/allowed.

If your account is a child account then a parental account needs to apply these settings to your account.

You may have to sign out and sign back in again on the device before these settings take affect.

Are you looking for privacy settings in your PlayStation Account or in your Microsoft Account?

Because I think you must edit privacy settings on Microsoft Account.

Check also if you are using a child account with limited access to some features or not.
