Not a rant, a plea

Let me start by saying I made the switch to Xbox after Ps2 with original. Since then I have loved my xbox, specifically Xbox 360 experience, with that great system it appears I should have stayed. This is a result of my own stupidity I admit, so before
I get trashed let me just say that. I took a leap of faith. I pre-ordered my xb1 feeling the haters would be proven wrong, that based off my experience with xbox 360, XBL, X-arcade. Here is the grave mistake I made, as the release date came nearer I figured
I'd raise the stakes...I traded in my 360 (in the words of Napoleon Dynamite "WHAT AN IDIOT"). If only someone would have stopped me then, if only it could of been a terminatoresque scenario and someone arrived from 8 months in the future to warn me.

Replaying old 360 titles at release was pretty fun, they made a great Assassin's Creed game, battlefield was the single worse gaming experience I've ever had on a console (barely got to play the game Open NAT and all), Forza was entertaining for a little
bit and I traded in CoD pretty much the second day I got it (the other games I didn't bother buying because they had launch dead weight written all over them aside from maybe Dead Rising). All this I chalked up to launch woes, and aside from the myriad of
problems the whole interface had (partying nightmares, not being able to hear people or them not being able to hear me without a hard reset in which I have to unplug everything) I figured things would patch up. Then comes the spit in my face, the flagship
game is getting released on 360 which lacks a campaign and the online campaign is just essentially a playlist. It's April and there is still no arcade games, and now I'm finding out that there is a new borderlands! WOO HOOO...oh wait its only for 360...wait
isnt that the old console? Oh but hey at least they released a patch update to fix the partying system...oh wait I still can't chat with my friends without restarting if I've run netflix that day (don't know if this is confirmed, but every time one of my friends
or I have run netflix during that xb1 session that individual either wont get audio through their headphones or cant be heard through their mic). As a life long xbox fan I just don't think I can continue to have any sort of faith...this isnt getting better
and instead of focusing on the future I continue to see great update after update for the old console. I mean logging on to xbox 1 feels like a ghost town, it feels like I'm playing an emulator for everquest or WoW and the population is nill ( what I mean
by this is when I log in, pins dont work 70% of the time, but it doesnt matter if they did because there are no games). I continually see updates from different app providers not including Xbone because its too much of a night mare. Sorry guys I know there
is no point to this message and its just a list of complaints littered with comma splices and run-ons but this is just sheer disappointment being released from my finger tips. This isn't a hate post if its viewed as such I could really care less, but I'm not
a hater, I loved this system...if anything as sad as this sounds, this is kind of a break up. Be safe Xbox, we had some good times, here's to the memories.

Sorry to hear clearing your cache didn't work, Mungbufu. Can you provide us a bit more detail behind what you are experiencing? I'd be especially interested in knowing if you are encountering any error codes or messages. In addition, are you able to successfully
download game updates if you use a direct connection between your console and your modem? Thanks in advance!

 

Not just a rant

sorry for a delayed reply, ive attempted to clear my cache several times, but when doing so the progress bar doesnt move and after a few seconds it leaves the clearing screen, having cleared nothing.

 

P.S. Thank you PC who would of known all these free games like LoL etc would help me in such a bad time in my gaming life.

You're entitled to your opinion, the reason I said a plea is because that's how I feel. I don't feel mad I just feel truly depressed, I haven't made one post since I've been available to (circa 2005). This was my breaking point I guess.

 

But you're not requesting anything, you're just listing theses you're unhappy with.

 

If you are depressed then you might want to see a doctor than come on the internet because the internet is the most depressing thing I have seen.

 

I can say for absolute certainy we have a lot more features and apps than the 360 had on release, by a long way. Also, there was only a slight graphics improvment back then, this time I noticed a massive difference, not to mention frame rates and larger
multi-player.

I'm very impressed with the rate at which we're getting updates, and they actually listen in the preview feedback forum (I can also take screenshots on the Xbox of issues and send them directly to support) . It's all running relatively smoothly IMO.

Nostalgia is a wonderful thing, if I didn't go though 12 Xbox 360s I might have agreed with you

 

You're right fatalshock, I guess I wasn't clear enough in my post. I've just been rooting for so long im tired, I just had to finally say something. Like I said In my post I acknowledge there's no point to what im saying. I mean where to start...arcade games,
xbox 360 originals (via xbox originals on xbox 360), pins that work, chat that works. I mean I feel its pretty easy to determine that to every complaint I have there in lies the solution. What I mean is if im complaining about something not working I think
it would be redundant for me to request it being repaired, isn't that evident?

 

Hellfire, you're right there is a lot more at launch than the 360, that was NEW, innovative. They already have the blueprint of the 360, that is the basis of how the means of production works, you build from the already established and make it better. This
should not be a repeat of the 360s timeline, it should move at a faster rate in my opinion. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, I'm not looking to start arguments or anything, just saddened.

 

Ztrooper I'm not depressed with my life, I'm depressed with my gaming system I should of clarified that I guess. That's the result I guess of being a noob to posting, I need to spell everything out with absolute detail.

 

There's absolutely no reason to get rid of your xbone lol. that's just silly. Day Z beta should be coming in november people are saying. 3 new games drop in april for the one. they are about to add more apps. elder scrolls online is coming out in 2 months.
this year is packed tight with kick *** games for the one. yes it's true they need to really speed things up, and they will with a new leader at the top. No need to quit on them now. Microsoft is on a full out man hunt for indie game devs right now to put
more arcade games and games in general on the one, and this includes pc game developers.

 

Yea I agree 100%, a lot of the base features that made the 360 so awesome should have been there (cross game party chat, music, usb support etc.) Although I think it's clear now the X1 was released much to early to compete with Sony, but updates that change
a lot of fundamental things are coming practically monthly and are as a direct result of community feedback and requests. It, at least, feels like we now have a direct input on the future of Xbox One.

 

How long did it take the 360 to play original xbox games. I'm not sure but when I think back it seems like it was 1 or 2 years. I may be wrong though.

My point is give it time and the xb1 will be even more amazing than it already is. In the beginning of the 360 it had no apps at all. It didn't install games to the HDD it didn't eject games with the controller and it wasn't as reliable as xb1 is either.

I don't know what else I can say.
