    Not a question, but I'm calling xbox out


    I got a new 1tb hard drive for my xbox about 3 months ago.

    It was working perfectly fine, but about a month ago, my xbox (xbox 1s, not xbox series s) started giving me an error message that it couldn't hold a stable connection with the hard drive. So I switched usb ports. But then it gave me the same error message. Now it keeps giving me the same error message over and over. I've cleaned the usb ports, ran software checks on both the xbox and the hard drive and all of them came back clean.

    There's literally no logical reason that my xbox should be rejecting my hard drive

    OK, did you try formatting the hard drive and using it for long periods of time on a PC?

    A health check doesn't necessarily pick up failing parts especially in a mechanical hard drive, if it's an SSD, often times chips have to get hot before they start failing

    I would exchange it under warranty, most of them have at least 90 days and more likely a year

    probably a cheap caddy was used for the hdd, these can be flakey and the cables are not premium either, the cables barely make usb 3 spec, change the cable.

    I'm going to answer the title question... There used to be the call center on the east coast you would call and get help from with anything Microsoft. A few months ago, they pulled the contract they had with the call center company and outsourced their
    call center to Jamaica. that may explain why you have so many Microsoft phone call issues. It's better to go onto the Xbox Support website to have the Xbox team reach out to you directly.
