Well this is the internet and to think your going to find child friendly envirnment anywhere out here is not lodgical thinking. If your reporting folks for cussing then your going to have to report almost everyone. Your options to shield your child are in
the xbox and you should have learned alll child safty fetures before playing in front of your kids. Their responcibility is yours, not ours. I respect what your saying but young kids have the worst mouths on the internet. Internet safty is only the parents
probleem. Besides, most war games are rated 17+ so again I wonder if your being a responcible gamer around your kid.. you only report folks for threats & nudity, not simple cussing. Again I mean you no disrespect, I actually like that you want your child to
not become one of those smart mouths types that we've all wanted to take a belt to, but unfortunately sometimes the more you try to control kids, the more likely they are to rebel and turn into one of those out here running their mouth cussin and calling everyone
***. Again check your child safty settings.

I've never expected the Internet to be child friendly, but there are places on the internet that are expected to be a little friendlier than others. And given the Code of Conduce, xbox live is one of those places that I've held to a slightly higher standard.
(And up to this point, I'd rarely had a problem with online gaming.)

The original reason for this thread was because the behavior in this game seems much worse than in many of the other games that I play online (the L4D series, the CoD series, the Halo series, and other similar games.) While there is some irresponsible,
unsportsmanlike behavior coming from gamers in those games, it is a very small minority (At least in my experiences.) The difference, and the reason I started this thread was because I was seeing MUCH more of that kind of behavior in this game.

I'm not one of those parents that need to filter out everything my kids see. I dont freak out when they hear a bad word, or see something that may not be entirely appropriate for their age (A little nudity or a moment of graphic violence). I see those
things as a teaching tools to hopefully teach my kids to be better people some day. Myself, I went through a bad patch when I was a teenager and did some pretty terrible things, and said some pretty cruel and insensitive things along the way, and while I'm
not going to shelter then from the realities of the world around them, I DO want to teach them to be better people than I was.

I play all of my T and M rated games without the kids around so I know what kind of subject matter is involved and if its something that I feel is ok for them before I even consider putting them in while they are awake.

In all honesty, I cant think of a single Teen rated game other than World of Tanks that I feel the need to filter around my kids. And I find that even a few of my M rated games are ok in capture-the-flag or deathmatch modes just because the players are
    so decent.

It just seems to me that since World of Tanks is a Teen rated game, and the Code of Conduct calls for a little judgement in the language people use, that there would be a little more effort on the part of the players to watch their language and be a little
    more sportsmanlike is all.

I admit I do drop some foul lingo, but Its normally about what I did wrong over what my team did. I have noticed though your teammates, are not very friendly or helpful 85% of the time, so I find myself in a party with some friends or even alone sometimes
    to avoid the game chat.

I can say I treat a Teen rated game the same as a M rated game when I play, I never really take into account of children playing games, but I also tend to stay around a more adult sided co-op type games over competitive, this and Minecraft being about the
only non M games I play often.

I have to admit I wish people would be more polite in games, I just accept the fact that on the 360 or well any console its nearly impossible to find a good teamwork game, if you can try moving to the PC side of gaming people can be just as rude, but the
majority of my experience has been positive or helpful teammates.

I can't stand the foul mouthed talk that goes on in this game. I simply plug in my head set, let it hang off the lamp stand with the mute button on and the volume clear off. I can still hear the game sounds through the tv. It's bad enough to hear adults
profane idiocracy's, but intollerable when it's a young pup. WOT is a fun game and they do need to start policing the foul mouths and ban them from the game, maybe give them their own site and call it world of foul mouthed idiots.

  5. Mute! i dont listen to anyone in this game,i just mute and play the way i want to.F#$% what other people have to say. Also, if parents would pay attention to what their kids were playing then we wouldn't be having this conversation. Its sad that some have
to degrade others to feel better about themselves but for the rest of us that like a lil s&^t talk , we shouldn't have to curb our language because some parent isn't watching their kid play games not rated for them.If you dont like the language then mute it,simple
as that! Now quit whining ..stfu and play the gameNot a child friendly environment, is it? :D

Well, for what its worth, I'm done with World of Tanks at least for now. Between the fact that I just 100% the game, and having enough of the poor behavior of a hand full of players, I just dont feel the need to keep playing for the time being.

The game itself, along with the large majority of the players have been a true joy to play with. The game has been a rare pleasure to play, and many of the people that I have met during the battles I have engaged in have been a lot of fun to play with.
Thank you to everyone who played in good sport and contributed to many of the good times I have experienced over the last two weeks.

For the rest of you, have a heart, remember what it was like when you first started playing games, and try to give the younger gamers around you a good, wholesome gaming experience. Take them under your wing and help them play well instead of just cussing
at them and calling them names.

Perhaps, if they add additional achievements, I'll log back in. Or for that matter, I may get the urge to do battle again some evening when the kids are in bed. Until then, keep fighting the good fight!

To those of you who have contributed to this thread: I agree with a couple of you, and I disagree with a few more, but in the end, thank you for contributing to the discussion and for keeping the tone civil in spite of all of our differences in opinion.

you know they have a disclaimer for online, like most games do.

Happy Wars is rate TEEN but it's more kid friendly.

where as the tank game your getting a lot of Battlefield and other war game players in to it.

Language is only one part of my "worry." My problem is also with the trash talking and unsportsmanlike behavior with little to no regard for the children who play these games.

Is it too much to ask that people would actually obey the code of conduct that is in place for Xbox Live?

PS: While I don't play online often, I DO play a wide range of games, including war games, and I can honestly say that I have NEVER encountered the degree of inconsiderate and offensive language in a game before this. (I've spent time playing several of
the CoD games, the Halo series, and a variety of other "war" games online.)

Its a real shame that some people meed to be offensive and trash talk their team mates instead of being friendly and helpful to those around themselves.

Not a child friendly environment, is it?

Its a nice gesture to shut the headset down when you hear children, but it seems to me that there are about 5 people without a headset for everyone who is actively using one. And I strongly suspect that the people who have headsets/mikes tend to be among
the older crowd for the most part.

I've never minded a little competitive chatter so long as its in good nature. But some of the people can get down right vicious. I don't think a lot of the people who have played the game for a while take into account that some of the people they are playing
with are noobs, or are just playing for fun.

Myself, I try to look out for the inexperienced people and help them along when I am able instead of getting angry at them. After all, I know that I was one of those noobs who struggled to get my tank where I wanted it or could barely center my targeting
bracket on a stationary target at one point. So I try to make a point of treating others the way I like to be treated when I'm not very good at a game, with a little help and a lot of patience. We all like to win, but it shouldn't come at the cost of someone
    not having fun.

Sorry if I sound like I'm being critical. I suspect that you arent a problem player given that you make an effort to avoid trash talking in front of people who may be upset by it. But it really upsets me to see people screaming at other players, especially
    when its a kid.
