    This has been a recurring issue for several months, and I just now decided to test to see how varied the problem is. This was a problem for We Happy Few, and as far as I could tell I could not be connected to the internet and play the game, it would crash
    before the game loaded. I brought this up to Gearbox support and they never got back to me. This was a problem for Prey, it crashed after the logos at the Title Screen. This was a problem for The Outer Worlds, it would reach the title screen, then crash a
    few seconds later, no matter what I tried to change. I've brought this up to OBSIDIAN on friday, and I'm still waiting on an answer. Just today, I tried installing Hollow Knight, Dead Cells, and Bloodstained: Ritual of the night. None of them start when I
    press the play button, nor do they start when I press play from the start menu, or try to run the game in administrator mode. I haven't gotten error codes for any problems for any games, they just crash. For what it's worth, I own Hollow Knight, Dead Cells,
    and Bloodstained on steam, and have had no trouble whatsoever playing them to completion. *Side note, I enjoy playing games multiple times*. I have tried running all games in administrator mode. I have tried reinstalling all of them, repairing them in windows
    settings, I have tried power cycling my computer and restarting it. I have reinstalled xbox game pass as a whole. I am running on the latest version of windows. I can't rollback to a previous version of my graphics driver, as the problem has existed in previous
    versions, and I require a preexisting copy of a previous version in order to rollback Nvidia GeForce graphic drivers. So far, the only game I own on the system that I can play is MCC, and the problem persisted until after I started opening the game on my start
    menu. Even then, it still crashes randomly on startup, though not nearly frequently as to be an actual problem. I am considering just getting MCC on steam and dropping the xbox game pass entirely.

    As said it could be a issue with gamepass on pc there are still a few bugs on it they are working on .

    I assume you have made sure everything is up to date including windows 10 ,

    I would let Microsoft know so they can investigate it to make sure it's not related to game pass for pc .

    Hello,

    To be honest, there is not really an easy way to solve this issue as it could be many issues. A good idea is to bring this up to support.xbox.com/contact-us and see if anyone there can help. This could be a variety of issues from: an issue with pc gamepass
    which would need looking into by the Xbox team or may just be a compatibility issue with gamepass on your computer. Hopefully this helps you out.

    After much back and forth I was finally able to solve the problem. None of the suggestions found online worked for me, but once I tried to start a game that was downloaded right off the start-menu (not using the Xbox app at all) the game started and launched the web-interface linked to my Game-pass account. After signing in there, the game launched. After exiting the game, I tried to launch the X-box app again and noticed I was now able to click on the "install" components.

    The component that was missing in my case was something called "game-tcup" or something like that. Once that was installed, the X-box app worked like normal again.
