None Fighting Games

Hello everyone,

I have just upgraded to Xbox One and I am looking at which games to buy to go with it.

I have found some that I like, however, I was wondering if can anyone recommend any good games which are not just fighting/combat/shooting.

Any suggestions?

Will we see Master Chief's face in Halo 4?

I believe showing his face would only be necessary if the movie or game would have him in non-combat situations.

For example, Bruce Wayne isn't always fighting crime, he has a life outside of being Batman.

Seeing as none of the games have shown him not being a total bad@$$ and fighting non-stop, his face is a non-issue. If they attempted to make a movie that showed him before he became "Master Chief" then they would need to reveal his face to us before they
attempt to do that.

 

Forgotten Fighting Games

None because fighting games are my least favorite genre

 

If you like sports games, EA and 2K have you covered for (American) football, soccer/football, basketball and hockey. If you want to play racing games, the Forza series is a good suggestion with Forza Motorsport 5 covering the simulation end of the spectrum
and Forza Horizon 2 being a great open-world racer that's a little more arcade-like in handling and game physics.

There's a good pool game in Pure Pool from VooFoo Studios/Ripstone Games or Tower Defence in the shape of Defense Grid 2 from Hidden Path Entertainment.

Then there's Geometry Wars 3 and Sixty Second Shooter Prime which I don't know how best to describe but the two have a similar concept.

If you like platformers/puzzlers, look at the likes of Limbo (released next week), Valiant Hearts (great story), Chariot (currently free to Gold members), Contrast, Guacamelee or Max: The Curse of the Brotherhood.

Trials Fusion deserves a mention.

If you like great stories in games, look into the offering from Telltale Games (The Wolf Among Us, The Walking Dead - Seasons 1 and 2, Tales from the Borderlands (only one episode so far), though they do include some "action" or fighting sequences) or, again,
Valiant Hearts.

There's also all the Lego games which are almost their own genre of game.

Essentially, it all really boils down to what type of game you want. There's a lot out there that is not centred on fighting or shooting someone and there's a lot of it that is good.

Looks like a good list to get me started, I don't mind fighting or anything but sometimes enjoy it when it is the secondary part of a game and strategy/storyline comes first. GTA for instance has a lot of combat in it but its much more than that.

I get somewhat bored of call of duty style games which just seem largely re-skinned (sorry anyone who's fan! each to their own!)

 

I personally enjoy a good Lego game. Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Lego Movie are my favorites.
