Discus and support non-hd cable box xbox tv in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Is there any possible way to make a non-HD cable box that uses component cables work with the Xbox one?     Is there any possible way to make a non-HD cable box that uses component cables work with the Xbox one? Would love to start watching tv this way.

    No cable box, does x1 have cable in port?

    In order to watch TV on the XBox One you will have to have a HD Cable box. You hook the HD Cable box into the Xbox One's HDMI IN port.

    Does Cable TV show in HD if only plugged to IR Blaster of X1?

    Right now, my cable company requires me to have a special HD Cable Box to access the HD cable channels, otherwise they show in Standard Definition without the HD Cable Box. I can also watch cable TV by plugging the cable from the wall directly to the TV..
    it doesn't give me every single cable channel that the cable box gives, but it does allow me to see majority of them (but in Standard Definition since I bypass the cable box)...

    So my question is...

    If I plug the IR blaster of the XBox 1 directly to the TV (and don't use the HDMI slot from the Xbox1), will the XBox 1 show me the TV channels in HD (since XBox 1 is HD capable) or will it show them to me in standard definition? I was hoping to this way
    to free up the HDMI slot to use with my Roku box so that both the TV and the Roku box can be accessed directly through the Xbox 1.

    My other question is.. I know I will no longer get the XBox 1 guide, but will the Xbox Box 1 still let me use the TV channels in the 'snap' feature setting if only connected via IR blaster?

    I dont think so, as the Xbox only has HDMI input for the Cable box. Might be some kind of adapter from component to HDMI adapter. But i have never tested that because I dont have cable TV.

    I have heard of this before. The horrible answer is it may work, or it may not. AV/Component cables are not officially supported for a few practical reasons. Just out of pure curiosity why would you want to use AV?

    Is there no swap available from Comcast for a STB that supports HDMI? If not that would be really horrible to hear.
