So we have xbox one with digital download of Minecraft. One account one kid

second kid has asked for xbox and Santa might bring. First kid does not like or play minecraft. Second kid loved mind craft. Since it was a digital download, can i transfer that game from original xbox to new xbox (separate account and gamer tag). Also heard
about about making original xbox a home consule and being able to share. Can someone explain either scenario to a dad who can barely set this thing up? Basically they both also need to be able to play fortnite at the same time

    :)

We have been attempting to find the ultimate setup for multiple users to play under one roof on fortnite in my home. The best I've been able to come up with was to have a second internet line installed by the same company I have internet service with now.
In order to provide a standalone line of service to a second system to allow my kids to play fortnite together, this was the best setup I was able to produce.

    1. transfer between account is not possible

    2. you could connect the account that as minecraft to the new xbox and set that xbox as the home xbox for that account (this will allow the other account to play the game without having to have the first account signed in)

3 fortnight is a free to play game so they should both be able to acquire the game and play it together

(both account need a gold subscription to play online)

    Hello Fellow Community Member!

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are inquiring about how to correctly configure two Xbox consoles to

    share games and services
    in-between your children.

Ideally, this is how it would be configured:

    • Console A belongs to the Son that you originally redeemed Minecraft to.
    • Console B will belong to the Son that wants to share this game. [In other words, 2nd kid]
    • Console B will be set-up as the Home Console of your 1st kid, this will allow you to share Minecraft onto that console since it was redeemed to the account of 1st kid, in the future, if you wish to organize and minimize your expenses, you would continue
to purchase subscriptions as well as digital games on this account, so that you can continue sharing this to Console B.
    • Keep in mind that son playing on Console A will be required to sign into his account And be connected to Xbox Live [the internet] in order to be able to play any of those digital games you purchase.
    • Console B will be able to play any digital games installed on the console offline and with any account on that console due to being configured as the Home Xbox of your 1st kid.

Fortnite is a free game, so you will need to go into the Store and manually download it from there on each account individually in order to be able to play this.

I hope this was able to clear up any confusion this might have caused.

Wait a minute, you mean we can’t play 2 sessions of fortnite on two different xboxs in the same house at the same time without a second feed? We have wired and wireless connections available.

Fortnite is a free game, and doesn't require any thing other an Xbox Live Gold subscription and internet in order to properly play it online. That game cannot be played at the same time on the same console, other wise known as being played 'split-screen'
or 'couch co-op.' If you got your child an Xbox all they'd need to do is get and download Fortnite to be able to play it at the same time as their sibling.

Games cannot be transferred from one account to another. Once an account purchases a game or redeems a code for it, that account is the sole owner of the license for that game and it can't be transferred in the traditional sense, but can be shared through
the usage of the Home Xbox feature. The account that owns the game needs to be logged into the Xbox you'd like to download Minecraft on, navigate to the settings menus, and under 'Personalization'... "My Home Xbox" should be an option. Once an account is set
to be the Home Xbox all games owned by that account will be playable by that Xbox by virtually anyone else without them having to own it.

This link has a how to on how to set up a Home Xbox.

Also, if you'd like more range of what your children can do online, what content can be shared online, and things like that... you should set up an Xbox Family. More details here.
