    Non-friends won't receive messages from me.


    Any time I try to message someone not on my friends list they will not receive it.

    This is very frustrating trying to get in raid groups on Destiny.

    A few things to note: I have NEVER received an e-mail from Microsoft/XBox Live telling me about any limitations/restrictions.

    Also: My rep 37% Preferred, 63% Avoided

    7% Aggressive

    36% Unsporting

    14% Quit Early

    5% Trash Talk

    0%Language

    0%Disruptive

    And finally, I rarely ever use my mic and a lot of these player reviews don't even make sense...

    When i message a friend they receive the message but when i message a person that is not on my friends list they do not receive a message and i have tested this out on at least 20 non friends and they all say the same thing that they did not receive a message
    from me also id like to add when i do send a message to some one that is not on my friends list it does say "message sent" so i am really confused i will try messaging you now.

    Communication suspension

    Nvm it's not working it only lets me message my friends but everyone else I can't send messages to it will send but they won't receive them.

    Sorry you are facing this issue. Can you confirm that your Privacy Settings for Voice and Text are not set to Friends Only?

    If that is the case it should be set to 'Everyone' and see if that fixes the problem.

    If not it might be best to consider visiting the enforcement forum to find out if you have an outstanding communications suspension that was not notified to you. These sort of suspensions could be put in place for either text communication or voice, or both.

    It is possible that those that you have tried sending messages to have their coms set to friends only. My coms are open to all. Try to send me a message and we will see if you have just been unlucky with who you try to contact.

    Receiving messages in SmartGlass with Xbox privacy settings set to friends only. How do I block messages in SmartGlass?

    This was the fix. I uninstalled the smartglass app and installed the xbox app and no longer receive messages from non-friends. the smartglass app must be outdated.
