  1. Noise while talking, only when controller and headset are plugged to laptop

Ok so I have several issues with the xbox headset... as many have posted, I also have problem with the mic. I have to say that I haven't tried this while playing on the TV since most of the time im streaming my xbox to my laptop.

First issue is I cannot be heard sometimes.. I can talk in parties just fine but I cannot be heard in gamechat. Also xbox app somehow doesn't recognize the headset, I need to do the "Sign out and in trick" to make it work every time I stream for the first
time that day, and if I lose connection I need to turn the controller off and on to make the headset work again..

Second issue is that as soon as i plug the controller to the laptop theres a cracking background noise behind my voice, every time I speak theres this noise .. so it's not the headset because as soon as I use the controler wireless the noise is gone, it's
just when I plug it, and yes, im making sure its firmly plugged both the controler to laptop and the headset..

    help?

    :)

Headset work only when the Controller USB cable conected

I have the same problem as well. When my controller is not plugged in to the console with the USB i get no sound in the headset. People are able to hear me and it shows on the screen like I am talking, but I only get sound back through the headset when
    I'm plugged in.

    Wireless headset problems help!!!! Please!!

Have you tried using another controller while you are using the wireless headset without the chatpad? The wireless headset should only skip a controller port when a wired headset is plugged in. I believe that there is something wrong with your controller,
as it seems to be detecting a wired headset when there is not one plugged in. You may want to try using compressed air on the headset port of the controller and see if maybe that might help.

I hear an echo in audio chat

If you hear an echo or noise during gameplay

Note If you hear an echo effect, it often originates from the person who is talking and not necessarily from the person who hears the echo. For example, if you hear an echo only when someone else talks, the problem may be with the headset connection
of the person who is talking.

The following conditions may cause an echo or noise during gameplay:

    • The microphone detects ambient noises. This includes voice transmission that comes from the earpiece.
    • The headset plug is not fully inserted into the controller.
    • You’re using the Xbox One Wireless Controller, and the battery levels in the unit are low.
If you or other players hear an echo or other noise during gameplay, try the following:

    • Turn the volume down on your TV or stereo.
    • Disconnect the headset, and then reconnect it firmly to the controller's expansion port.

Note Never pull on the headset cable when removing it from your controller. Remove your headset from your controller by pulling on the body of the headset plug.
    • Clean the plug on the headset cable with a clean cloth, and then reconnect the headset to the controller.
    • Test the headset by connecting it to a different controller.
    • If you're using an Xbox One Wireless Controller, replace the AA batteries or recharge the Xbox One rechargeable battery.

When I plug in my controller charger, my headset game volume gets increased tremendously.

Turtle Beach XO7 headset has game audio customization and mic settings based on the noise level of your environment. My two cents would be that when you plug in the controller charger cable the volume of the headset increases to overcome the plug in noise.

    Wired versus Wireless Controllers/Headsets

I prefer wireless controller and wired headset, but I do not recommend using a wired controller and a wired headset. Some headsets will make a weird buzzing noise when plugged into a wired controller. And also, same goes for plugging your wireless controller
into your console to charge a battery pack.

    Headphones/Chat Yes or no??

I used to use headphones for in-game sound while late at night, but no longer do that. I use the headset while talking to friends either in party chat or game chat, but prefer party chat. While on my own I don't use my headset, but have it plugged in so
that the talking and other weird noises others make doesn't come through the speakers.
