Nobody can listen to my voice messages over Live but I can still send text and voice.

I already mentioned the current text messages doing the exact same thing which I hate too, unless in a Party Chat. Hopefully that's fixed but I hated voice messages because I'm able to read a full text message a lot faster than clicking 'Play', waiting for
the message to load, listening to it and backing out of the voice listener which takes way too long. I also had the ability to on a single glance tell if it was a message I wanted to bother with or if it was just spam or hate mail.

The thing though is I still had people sending me voice messages and getting butthurt because since they were too inpatient to write out a text message, I had to have the patience to wait through the long process of listening to their message which I just
wouldn't do so I'd never get their message. I'd send 'send text message' over and over again but people sending voice messages are just too impatient to care.

Plus, mostly its the little squeaky kids that send voice messages so there's another reason I hated having to deal with them.

The only way you will every be able to make a solid case to voice message is by getting the usage figures over all the people with gold accounts.

Voice messages are convenient for sending messages, yes you don't have to type, but on the 360 there were a pain to receive, 90% of the voice message i received was from people trolling.

The ratio of trolling on voice message was always higher than people sending text message, becuase its easier to send a voice message.

Other issues with voice messages is receiving them mid was through a game, its much easier and quicker to read a message than it is to listen to a voice message, which can't be played through the site, or on smartglass were I do 99% of my messaging.

I would be happy with a compromise, if I could block all voice messages and MS implements a system which converted voice messages to text on the fly I could live with that.

voice messages might be wanted, but so are pink xbox's and in both cases not by everyone.

I'm not a fan of voice messages. I never used it on the Xbox 360. I've always preferred sending text messages instead over voice messages.

No Geek, its considered the same. Voice messages and voice mail. When you listen to voice messages, The Xbox 360's Dashboard (UI/OS) brings up a small box titled Voice Mail and you listen to the voice messages. All Xbox 1 consoles have the same audio codec.
Xbox 360 has VARIETY in ways you can send messages across Xbox Live. Xbox 1 only has ONE way to send voice messages across Xbox Live, and it's only via TXT. I'd consider going to the official Xbox feedback site. I voice message with MANY peps and friends across
Xbox Live. IT BRINGS MORE LIFE TO A MESSAGE than just TXT.

I miss receiving "rap battle" voice messages requests from complete strangers. It would be nice to have voice messages on the Xbox One, but I can live with sending text messages. I send them at the end of games/rounds so it doesn't
bother me anyway.
