No Xbox One Remotes or Kinect adapters anywhere!!!

I'm just wondering if Microsoft is planning on replenishing their stock of Xbox One remotes and Kinect adapters. I bought a new Xbox One Slim and Xbox One X this year (kids and mine) and I haven't been able to find the remote for months. I have only recently
started looking for the adapters because until recently I was still using an Xbox One original and didn't require one. I don't use the Kinect much, but it's really nice for the voice commands when watching things. Anybody know if this is a normal thing or
if there is an ETA on these items becoming available again?

    :)

  2. xbox one media remote control tv volume WITHOUT Kinect ... possible?

    No, it's not a universal remote: (www.xbox.com/.../media-remote)

The remote controls TV/receiver power and volume through Kinect, or an IR extender cable (cable not included).

You need Kinect or IR Extenders.

  3. How do you control Xbox One with a Universal Remote?

I've seen a number of articles stating that it is "easy" to setup a Universal remote with Xbox One, but I have found no information anywhere how to do this. An article from CNet here (http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-9020_7-57613247-222/xbox-one-20-things-you-need-to-know/)
    states the following:

    10. The Xbox One works with universal remotes

Unlike the PS4, which lacks an IR port, the Xbox One can be controlled with a compatible universal remote. That's nice for DVD or Blu-ray playback, for folks who don't want to use the Xbox controller or Kinect voice commands.

I've tried setting my remote as a Windows Media Center remote, and as a 360 media remote, but none of the controls are working with the Xbox One. There is also a MS help page here (http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-...rsal-remotes#d3eef5940fdc4646841a010229ec04d8),
but it provides no help. Has anyone done this yet? Logitech Harmony remotes are supposed to have day one support...but I am not using a logitech remote. I just want the IR codes, or the type of remote it should emulate (media center remote, etc).

No Xbox One Remotes or Kinect adapters anywhere!!!

The Kinect and Kinect adapter are discontinued and what's available is going to be expensive.

Xbox One controllers are available at most common retailers, so that shouldn't be an issue.

Ugh, that's really sad about the Kinect adapters. Also I was talking about the Xbox One remotes not controllers. Are those discontinued as well?

It seems really strange that they would release a new console and then discontinue part of the capabilities for that console.

A free, official alternative to the Xbox media remote would be the Xbox smartphone app (iOS/Android). You can load the app on your phone, connect to your Xbox One on your local network, and press the remote icon on the bottom corner. It pretty much has all
of the functionality of the physical accessory.
