No Xbox live gold while gamesharing

I have a friend who is game sharing with me. I don’t have my own gold subscription so he said we will game share with me so I cant get Xbox live gold. When I first made his account home Xbox as my Xbox it gave me Xbox live gold and it had worked perfectly
fine until today. The two games I’ve download from him kept working until I decided to remove their home Xbox and then I’ve gone and set his accounts home Xbox back as my Xbox and then power cycled the console. This hasn’t fixed the problem. I've checked if
he still has his gold subscription and he does.

Im not sure how many switches my friend has but I’m certain its around 1-3 switches left. I have 4 switches left on my account.

Thank you for posting on Xbox Forums. In regards to this issue, when it comes to game sharing, any account has a total of 5 console switches. When you made your console your friends account the home console do you know how many switches you have left

yes also it will automatically put ur account as the home xbox while still being able to gameshare with ur friends.

Now, I'm unsure if you actually read my post, as I mentioned previously I have repeatedly checked my settings because that's the only piece of advice I've been given by anyone on any sort of forum to try to fix it. The only thing that I can think of is that maybe since I am only getting xbox live gold through gameshare It doesn't work, but that just doesn't really make sense because it worked prior to a week or two ago while I also only had gameshared xbox live gold.
