No Warning that no Xbox Live Core Services = Xbox One is useless?

I purchased an Xbox One last March to upgrade from my Xbox 360. At no point was I prevented from accessing my local content (whether or not it was a digital copy) on my 360. Not so with the Xbox One. All of my downloaded apps and games on 360 would at least
allow me local access because I could still sign in locally.

Since my conversion to an Xbox One Microsoft has had several service impacting outages with the Live Core Services handling profile login and each time it renders my Xbox One into a useless Rock. I cannot access my apps or games because most are digital
downloads. Most of these outages last several hours in duration with no explanation or compensation for a paid service which is required to utilize your hardware. What little information is posted on the Live Support page is useless in giving any indication
of an estimated time to restore services nor any means to get more information. And to add insult to injury, when you call support Microsoft tells you in a recorded message that your questions regarding this outage will not be taken by live support staff.

So Xbox One support staff, what does a person have to do to turn a $600 rock into a usable device when your services are unavailable? What exactly are Xbox Gold Live members paying for? I dont have to use the One as my primary media device but have chosen
to do so for now. If these problems aren't addressed I WILL make a different choice and take my annual subscription elsewhere as well.

XBOX 360 connection on Xbox Live

I use xbox 360. [Robot beep]: Error Error Not connection on xbox live, while Sign in on xbox live not connection on XBOX Live.

I test connection on XBOX Live: Xbox 360 is OK, wireless is OK, internet connection is OK, XBOX Live is Fail. And Xbox Live service still running up. Xbox Live Status: "Xbox Live Core Services".

Xbox 360 is working file and Xbox live service is running up, still there. but its glitch or maybe damage from xbox live service "Xbox Live Core Services". Please fix this xbox live connection on xbox live. "Xbox Live Core Services".

 

Note I am 3 hours into a Service Outage at this time.

Hello fellow community member, thanks for inquiring. I live about 20 minutes outside of Seattle. The problem is not with network connectivity, I run a business connection with a d/l speed of 17.70 Mbps an upload of 3.39 Mbps with 0% packet loss. All of my
other internet connected devices (2 smart tv's, 3 Xbox 360's, 3 PC's, and 10 mobile devices) all connect to the internet, and in the case of the 360's, can log in to Live. But when the Xbox One platform drops access to Live my One is useless because it cant
access my profile to see if my account can access the downloaded content.

 

FYI Ive got almost 20 years in IT. Former MS Escalation Engineer.

 

The Xbox Live Service Status has had the same useless information (since at least 2pm PST) just reposted repeatedly.

1/28/2015 6:54:02 PM CST:Can’t sign in? Don’t worry! Our engineers are on the case, and are working to provide a fix ASAP! In the meantime, we’re grateful for your patience. We’ll update you on the status of our investigation in 30 minutes.

Where is the update? They resolved the issue on the 360 platform over an hour ago. Why is the flagship product getting sub-standard care?

 

Update: The One now reports all services are healthy. However when I try to sign in I get back the error:

"There was a problem.

We could not sign you in. Try again in a few minutes, or check your account by signing into account.live.com Sign in:0x87DD000F

 

And still no change in the update provided by Live Status.

 

I'm getting tired of this too. I'm ordinarily a PC gamer but I got convinced to switch to console and I'm not feeling good about it now. So much downtime in less than 2 months is ridiculous, and without notice or status updates. You could expect this kind
of service from small game developers on a PC game, but not from Microsoft? Show some class....

 

This crap is rediculous how many times does this *** happen getting tired of this *** happen at *** random no warning what so ever and xbox live core *** is down again for a next gen console they have a way to make it *** real quick with this *** mirosoft
fix your *** now.

 

The hardest part of this for me is the the fault is with us the consumer base. We accept this poor level of service so much so that the businesses actually count on you getting so frustrated you work it out on your own or deal with the inconvenience. The
only real way to be heard is to take your money to a competitor with no better practices. And the cherry on top is we PAY for this privilege.

 

I think they are the same problem as sony i believe they are being hacked by
[Mod Removed] trying to get credit card acct numbers.. I think it is time for ms and sony to find away together to fry the hackers computers with a ping back virus... The Enemy of my Enemy is my friend.

 

Its too early yet to say what the root cause for THIS issue is. It might be that Lizard group, it might be a resource issue, it might be a patching issue. There are lots of possibilities. But previous outages have been caused by Denial of Service attacks
for political reasons. The Sony "hack" was proven to be a hoax perpetrated by Sony employees. So most likely not financially motivated.

It is just extremely frustrating to have spent so much money on a device that the manufacturer can then arbitrarily dictate when I can use it in my home. Meanwhile its predecessor is sitting right next to it works like a charm.
