no volume from the headsets

From my experience with turtle beach headsets you will not see the volume sliders on the adapters or with the headset, if they have the volume controls on them. e.g. if the headset has volume and mic volume controls, you willnot see them available on
the xbox.

Is there a volume wheel on one of the ear pieces of the headset? Because on the wireless version headset there is, and the chat volume is separated from it. Check that, because it could be all the way down.

To connect a wired headset

Turn down the headset volume by rotating the volume control all the way to the left.

Insert the headset plug into the expansion port on your game controller.

Put on your headset and adjust the microphone.

To adjust the volume: Rotate the volume-control knob.

To mute: Switch the microphone button on the headset cable.

There must be something wrong in the settings. Check the output sound of the party. Check the volume in the volume settings. Check the volume at your headset or headset adapter.

You said you used or tried Two different headsets and experienced the same problem?

Curious, did you use the same cable for both headsets? If so, try a different cable from the headset to the controller.

Is there a POT (potentiometer) volume knob on the cord? If so, take the Volume knob and go from max volume to min volume back and forth thirty times. This will clean and dust off the POT.

You mentioned using a USB cable in the controllers. I assume you are talking about powering the controller instead of batteries. If so, have you tried batteries?

One of the headsets is wired, the other one is wireless. The Astro headset doesn't have a 3.5mm port anywhere on it.

I've messed with the volume on both and the audio still cuts out.

As for the controllers, I've used batteries and the USB cable on 2 of the 3 to the same effect.
