    No voices from my TV

Not sure whats causing it, as it only started after the last update. I have the surround sound beta active. However, when I put my sound setting to either 5.1 or 7.1, I find that in certain apps or TV stations, the center channel audio (at least thats what
I think it is) doesn't play, and I'm often left with only background noise. Any idea what could be causing this?

    :)

  2. Is there any way to play chat through "headset and television" like on the 360?

I really hope Microsoft sees this thread and updates the Xbox One's audio settings so that your own voice comes through both the tv speakers and the headset. As a new Youtuber I am very disappointed that I cannot record my own voice on my videos without
splitting and splicing wires from my headset and controller so that my voice is transmitted through my tv speakers and recorded along with my game and party chat audio from friends. I am using an Elgato Game Capture Card and it only records audio that comes
through your tv speakers. Since the Xbox One only allows my voice to come through my headset and not my tv speakers I am unable to record my own voice. So this method of splitting wires and using the Kinect microphone causes a reduced quality and an increased
echo to my voice audio, making my videos have an overall horrible sound to them. By having my voice audio go through both my headset and tv speakers I would be able to record my voice with good quality. If Microsoft truly cares about it's consumers and making
the Xbox One an "all in one" media center with social media support then it really needs to make the change in allowing players to have their voice chat audio go through both the headset and tv speakers in its next update.

    Adjusting Stereo Volume

Thanks all! Using voice commands is great and i will try this. I'm surprised that there is no way adjust the volume using the remote. Scenario being, if go from game (cranked up 7.1) to TV i want to turn it down, but the TV is too loud for voice commands.

I'm having a similar problem with Netflix, Xbox Video and Amazon Video. I can hear background noises, music etc..., but no voices!

    In game chat.

Oh and if headset not plugged in, voices come from tv speakers!

Kinect very rarely acknowledges "xbox on" command

Thanks for the reply, but none of these are the issue (and I've tested in a multitude of circumstances). Since this is dealing with the "xbox on" command, the TV speakers are *not* on. Also, when the system is on, it recognizes my voice commands just fine
from the same location (now the TV speakers are on).

This seems very clearly to be a software issue as the voice commands work decently when the xbox is on.

    Aaron Paul

I just tested it; none of the voice commands that Aaron Paul gave in the commerical (Xbox On, Xbox go to Titanfall, Xbox Record That, & Xbox Go To Skype set off anything on my TV or my Xbox One). I even turned up the volume and nothing happened. This makes
it harder for me to believe that this is happening to people, and even if it is, it's really not that big of a deal - if you're not watching TV through your console to begin with (which you probably should, if able), then it doesn't really interrupt your TV-watching
experience because even when the console turns on, it shouldn't switch your source or input. In fact, if you have your console setup so you can use voice commands to turn it off, having it on can actually make turning your TV off later easier.

One solution that I use to prevent things like this from happening is to have all of my TV's audio come through the headphones - that way, it's impossible for the Kinect sensor to register any voice commands from my TV (and for the record, I accounted for
this in my test above). In fact, it's great because it actually makes it easier to use voice commands because there's no constant background interference from the TV itself AND I don't disturb my family with my excessive TV-watching and video-game playing.
    You should try it! ;)
