    No video is output with instant on


    Hi,

    FYI in case others have experienced this issue and thought they bought a defective unit as I did. I got an Xbox One this weekend and encountered a strange issue. The issue was that often no video would output to my older 32" LG TV, when I turned on the system.
    Frustratingly, I would have to do hard reboots multiple times before video would be output to the display again. However, everything worked fine on my main TV. After fiddling around with the settings, I discovered a workaround: change the power settings from
    Instant On to Energy Saving.

    I suspect this is a bug in the firmware. Originally, I thought I bought a defective unit so I went to the store and bought a second one. After setting it up, I experienced the very same issue as the first unit, and it was then that I stumbled on the workaround
    described in the previous paragraph. With that said, it's a major bummer that I can't take advantage of background downloads and updates, so I'm hoping Microsoft fixes this issue sooner than later.

    As of now, the Xbox One has to be powered on for the video from the HDMI input to be visible. In a powered off state (even when configured for Instant-on) the video from the HDMI input is not passed through to the output.

    No video output

    First thing to try would be a hard reset of the console. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds or until the power shuts down completely. Unplug the power cord from the back of the console for 5 minutes. Plug the power cord back in and restart
    the console. Once it is back up and operational test for results. Let us know. Good Luck!

    I would like to elaborate on all that I have tried:

    -Plugging the HDMI cord into all 3 of my TV's ports

    -Power cycling

    -Unplugging both ends of the brick

    -Unplugging all cords and waiting for several minutes

    Hi, if your TV has a just scan option in it's picture options try enabling that. Failing that try any other aspect ratio options the TV has.
